I simply cannot believe how my attempts to design a ship by cut and paste can cause so much bother. I swear to God, any none Trekies who were to fall upon this thread would slap their faces into their palms over all this.

If you have said "yeah, this was a quick cut and paste job just to get some concepts across" and left it at that, wouldn't have been too many complaints, aside from the uber-twinkishness of the concept itself (which is why I recommended ADSB).

While MSPaint is indeed limited in certain respects, there's no reason that you can't line up images in it. On top of that, you've also had FREE tools pointed out to you, and you chose to be derisive to them as well.

The offensiveness and virtriol has largely come from your direction, along with many statements of "These line up perfectly" (when they didn't) and "I rescaled components but they mesh right" (when you didn't and they don't).

Now that you've pretty much alienated everyone, you still insist that you're not the one who screwed up anywhere... ever, yet everything that's happened from your first post on, has been completely by your choice. Something to consider.

As for me, I'm done here since it's obvious that you're NOT looking for anything more than accolades. Dude, you're on the same site that hosts the people who designed the ships you see on screen... you jumped into the boiling pot, and it's a little silly to complain about the water being warm.

Some people like to make mountains out of mole hills and more often than not it's on subjects where doing such a thing is absurd. This thread being a prime example of how Human Beings can lose all sense of their maturity.
Maybe if people who put so much time and energy into arguing over the scale and detail of a cut paste Trek starship put that time and energy into other more positive endeavours and more productive areas the world wouldn't be such a terrible place.

I'm replying for two reasons. One, I don't want this bit of 'wisdom' to dissapear to edits. Two, there's something here that I can't really let go.

Dude, this is our free time. This is our down time, really. It's our hobby, and we cherish it. Most of us work, have kids, have a load of responsibilities and thus 'take the time' from doing the more productive things to recharge our batteries.

There are doctors here, and lawyers, and mechanics, and writers, and actors, and producers, and policemen, and firemen, and soldiers, and parents, etc. In all those fields, we're mature, responsible, dependable adults. We bust our butts off for the 'world at large' and are productive.

So we come here as an escape from that. We come here to have fun. We share a hobby and we post about it on these forums. We can debate, we can get heated, and we do it because, ultimately, we both want to have fun and ensure that we can keep having fun.

So what we don't come here for is to have someone's ego attempt to destroy the fun with their demands and their catcalls, by demanding that we bow to their greatness and then put up with their whining and rants when we don't.

It may be immature, to a point, to care about the color of the nacelle caps on the USS Wolverine. It's definately immature to attack, harass, lie, and whine because someone didn't like your own bit of escapism - or merely was suggesting ways to improve it.
