NHL 2011/2012 Season

Considering the complaint came from Sean Avery... *shrugs*

Leafs beat Ottawa. Lots of point from the MacArthur/Grabovski/Kulemin line.

These video explanations Shannahan is putting out when he hands out a suspension are awesome, gives a whole new transparancy to the game. Such a marked difference from when that fucking idiot Campbell was in charge.

Is it just me or does anyone else think Shanahan is going overboard with his hearings and suspensions. Clarke MacArthur now has a hearing for what was pretty obviously a dive by the other player.

^ Basically what happened was Abdelkader ran into MacArthur at the same time that a sniper shot Abdelkader from the upper deck.

^ I love that description. It's the third time I've read it and it still makes me laugh.

Also good for a giggle... The Rangers have placed Sean Avery on waivers.

Well, Toronto was awful in the first period, but really picked it up in the last two and closed strong. Reimer looked like he's going to pick up right where he left off, and it was fantastic to see Lombardi pot the first goal of the year. Also nice to see Phaneuf have a two point night; the Leafs are going to need that from him if this year is going to be any different.

The biggest problem, I think, is that the power play still looked horribly anemic. Hopefully that will improve when Connolly and MacArthur are back in the lineup.

Well, two wins to start the season is nice. Shame about holding on to win 6-5 when those five goals cam against you in the third period though. Didn't see the game but I hope it wasn't all Reimer's fault.

To me, giving up those five in one period overshadows Kessel's hat trick tonight or Reimer's shutout start against Montreal two nights ago.

^ Reimer probably should have stopped one or two of them, but it was mostly down to the Leafs defence forgetting how to defend, several stupid penalties, and in the case of Alfredsson's shorthanded goal, bad timing,

Holy crap. Game starts and 8 seconds later, score is 1-0 Jets.

Now, if only they can keep that up for the rest of the game, then we might have our first win. :p

The Avalanche have won 5 in a row on the road. I'm not getting my hopes up, but if they can keep that up, they may have something this year.

Sharks need to learn how to keep the puck in the zone for an extended period of time. This is getting ridiculous.

They looked like a pretty good team tonight to me. Probably helped that Gigeure has decided to go "Welp! I shall be awesome again now that I've left Toronto."

I was at the game last night and saw the tribute, it was pretty sad, but happy as well.

As for the game, ugh. 0-8 on the power play, we were outshooting them 38-9 at one point, and somehow still lost.
