NHL 2011/2012 Season

Well I have a bit more hope with Ottawa facing the Rangers rather than the Bruins. They took three of the four games against them in the regular season. I won't be surprised if thy go down though.

As to the playoff format, I really don't like the seeding of division leaders in the top three spots either. I think they should just throw all 16 teams into the mix and seed them accordingly. It could give us some pretty cool match-ups!

Coyotes over Blackhawks in 6.

Coyotes are 3-1 in the season series against the Blackhawks. Not sure why the Coyotes ought to start sucking against the 'Hawks now.

Can't believe it's been a year, but my liver is thankful. If anyone needs me, I'll be at the bar.

Tonight is the draft lottery, where the Columbus Blue Jackets will undoubtedly win the number one overall pick. I agree with James Duthie (yes, it can happen), open it up to all non-playoff teams!

Edmonton got it. Edmonton and Columbus just switched order. The other three stayed the same. And you know it's a crap year for Canada when only two of seven teams made the playoffs and three of the five that didn't finished in the bottom five and got a chance at the lottery.

The lottery set up needs to be changed. How anti-climatic was that? Outside of Bill Daly's montone presentation, the fact that the chance of anyone but Edmonton moving up was so remote.

Here's a theory:
- TSN needs to throw James Duthie to the curb (You have people like Dave Hodge, Gino Reda, Dutchie, and Duthie is your NHL host, the only thing worse on this network is Jay Onrait)
- Replace Daly with a showman, someone who can make this interesting.
- Finally, make it so more teams can more up in a less complicated system. Even if you don't want to throw everyone in it, make it the top eight have a chance at number one, not "Eight can only be Four, Eight, or Nine." You can still tank in this system. Columbus still got number two and still had almost a fifty-fifty shot at number one.

That's not true, though. The 29th place team has until tonight never won the draft lottery. The Oilers only had an 19% chance of winning, while it was 14%, 11%, and 8% for the other bottom five teams. Columbus had a whopping 48% chance of winning. If anything, the lottery is rigged for the last place team. But everyone else has a pretty slim chance by comparison.

I'm sad I'm not on the West Coast to watch Vancouver this time around, and alas, I only just perfected my molotov cocktail.

Rangers in 6

Coyotes in 6

Flyers-Penguins game doesn't disappoint with the Flyers coming back from three goals down to win in overtime. Holy crap.

I hope you guys don't mind if I do my predictions a bit late. ;)

Rangers in 6
Bruins in 5
Devils in 5
Penguins in 7

Canucks in 6
Blues in 6
Coyotes in 7
Predators in 6

Penguins score about 15 seconds into the game. Penguins score again. Flyers score on a short-handed goal and the Penguins score again. Flyers score twice more to tie it but the Penguins score again. Flyers score to tie it again but the Penguins score again. Then the Flyers score three more times to win it.

Holy crap, my heart can't take this.

Canucks lose two to LA, in Vancouver. Luongo was in net for both. I wonder if they'll be going with Schneider for the next game.

As for Philly over Pittsburgh... wow. Two short-handed goals. Two players getting hat tricks, including Giroux, who also had three assists. I don't like either team but seriously, wow.

Luongo wasn't at fault for either of the two losses (I'd argue he was the best Canuck on the ice) but perhaps Schneider starting would be best. The team needs a serious shake-up.

Pens/Flyers. Crazy game, crazy series.

Another 8 goal domination by the Flyers over the Pens. And yet again a tonne of penalty minutes. Crazy indeed.

And apparently Schneider is getting the start for Vancouver.

Call it the curse of Luongo or Luongo choking, either way, I doubt they'll win a Cup in his time with the team.

That was a ugly game. Clearly the Penguins are frustrated. Some nice offense on both teams (and some bad goaltending with Fleury), but damn things got ugly. I wouldn't be surprised if there are suspensions handed out.

Curse of the Presidents Cup, & Curse of the Canucks if they traded Louongo the team he goes to would win the cup with him.
all I can say is they've been out coached , by on of the biggest whiners to play the game( if you ever saw the Sutter's play in the WHL you know what I mean)

all I can say is F(beep)k!!,F(beep)k!!,F(beep)k!!,F(beep)k!!,F(beep)k!!

I don't particularly like Vancouver but as a Canadian, I was rooting for them and I'm amazed they're one game away from being swept in the first round.
