NHL 2010/2011 season....

Since I live in Madison, Wisconsin, now, it's very hard for me to catch the Blackhawks unless they're on national television. Hence, the ranting possibilities are limited.

I will say this for today's game: Holy dogshit, a squad of drunken monkeys on PCP could have done a better job of passing the puck than the Blackhawks did today. What the fuck.

I grew up in the western suburbs (about 30-some minutes outside of the city), lived there until I was 18, spent eight years in Dubuque, Iowa, and now reside in south-central Wisconsin. :)

BTW, I almost never cheer for an American team if it's one I hate. No reason you should have to cheer for the Habs just because they're Canadian.

Well, true. But I would naturally prefer a Canadian team to win.

And I'll cheer for anyone playing against Philly. Go Buffalo!!!

So I think I just sank myself in my playoff pool by picking a Washington vs. Vancouver final.

But Pittsburgh without Crosby isn't going to get far. Philadelphia with Bobrovsky/Boucher isn't going too far, unless they turn into Leighton and Niemi.

Detroit is Detroit, but how far can you get on the back of Jimmy Howard.

Agreed. If I get to be annoyed when CBC tells me the Oilers (pfah!) are my team because they've gone furthest in the post season.

FINALLY! Since the Nucks wrapped up the President's Trophy I just wanted this season to end with as few injuries as possible.

Pretty excited, I have to say. I'm going to game #5 of the Hawks/Canucks. If we get swept I'll be one sad panda!

Damn you had to pick my team. Then again, I take pride in being hated (Go Broadstreet Bullies).

Of course, with their last couple months (to be generous), I have no idea what to expect.

I have no choice but to cheer for Vancouver and Montreal now. Bah!

Nope I'd never cheer for Montreal
Go Bruins!

I agree I've always hated the Oilers, always will.
Yeah it like the CBC thinks we're all a Laughs or Habs nation.

Nice , yeah its good to see that they have few injuries, though they are going to really miss Manny Mahotra in the face off circle.
I'm hoping the Canucks in 6.

You want to talk about not knowing what to expect? try looking at the Sabres this year. Yeah, they've been good more often than not since the new year, but we are such an incredibly bi-polar team.

Also, for the record... F@&^ the Flyers ;)

That 1st period the Canucks played last night was probably the best period of hockey I've ever seen them play in 20+ years of watching this team. Unreal hockey - they were skating hard, winning battles, hitting anything that moved, getting chances on net, playing excellent defense, scoring goals and of course that unbelievable toe save by Luongo.

They took their foot off the gas in the 2nd and and a bit in the 3rd, but still a deserving win. They also injured Thoma Kopecky and that turncoat Ryan Johnson.

This looks like it'll be a great series!

Something tells me Steven Stamkos won't soon forget his first ever playoff shift:

Probably not. :)

Right now, since my Leafs missed for a team record six seasons in a row, I'm actually more interested in the Phoenix/Winnipeg saga. And today, for the first time since they started it, the TSN Jets Meter moved past the half way point to dropping the puck in Winnipeg.

I obviously don't live there but another Canadian team, especially one coming back home, would be damned fine.

Cutting it a little close for most of the way through, but my beloved Canadiens started things off nicely. Carey Price was terrific.

I hear Stephen Harper praised the Leafs for once again sparing Toronto an unnecessary playoff campaign.;)
