NHL 2008-2009 Discussion!

^ Hey you and i should go to an oilers game at some point. I want to get tickets for the kings/oilers game in april if you want to go?

A late check in for me as ive been disaperated for a while. However, i do work in the oilers store at Rexall now. Best. Job. Ever. I get paid to watch hockey.

The Preds had a great game last night!!! Too bad I was not there nor was it on television. Between that and the UT Vols actually winning a game, it was a great day!

What a great comback by the Oil to defeat the Flames and take the home and home! :D

I did love how the Oil fans booed Bertuzzi every time he touched the puck. I love smart fans. :D

I was glad to be able to watch this game since the NHL network is now showing HNIC in the US. Loved Don Cherry's suit during the Coach's Corner in the first game

You had me at "hello." ;)
I try to make it a point to go to at least 5 games a year. Edm/LA would be sweet, plus I'm going to try desperately to get tickets to the Habs game too. PM me.

PM sent :)

Kings lost to the avs last night and thats...depressing. A sign of a season to come? I hope not. Otherwise I am going to be one miserable person. Le sigh.

ETA: If you do happen to come with me I do warn you that I might be wearing my overly large 1967 mustard yellow jersey :p

Last night's Avs/Flames game was somewhat slow, but I still enjoyed it. I was actually biting my nails. One of those games where either team could have struck first, which makes for pretty tense hockey. By teh mid 2nd, you just knew whoever scored first was going to take the game.

Good to see our support cast getting in there; a team that grinds their way to the net is what has made the Flames successful in recent years. I was also glad to see we kept the shots against pretty low.

Wow, the Flyers crushed the Thrashers last night. Of course, we suck against everyone else, so it doesn't really matter.

I'm so proud of my youngest. At 3 he could recognize Gretzky. Now, at 4 he knows who Don Cherry is.

I had Hockey Night in Canada on in the family room while the kids cleaned up their rooms before bed. The boys finished and went to watch TV. Coach's Corner was on because I hear my youngest say "Don Cherry!" Last week was the first time he'd seen the coach before.

I'm so proud, I think there's a tear forming.

I am attempting to get my work placement with the Edmonton Oilers, if not the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Wish me luck, I have a feeling I may need it.

James Bond: You going to reply to that pm or what? :p

There was actually a Kings game on tv tonight  It was nice to see them in action for once instead of listening to it. Too bad they lost, not that that was much of a surprise.

Haha well, if you didnt answer i was just going to ask someone else instead :p

You all probably know the Gordie Howe hat trick: a goal, an assist, and a fight. After last night's Islanders game, I suggest the Campoli hat trick: a goal, a goal which is ignored as play continues, and another goal on the same play. (He was awarded the original goal).

Well, I went to see the Sens/Capitals game the other night.

Had a good time, the Caps seemed to be outplaying the Sens (at least, from where I was sitting), but ended up getting outshot and out-scored, in OT.

So that's two Sens games I've seen live, and they've won both of them. :)

I'm still in awe of what Mario Lemieux accomplished for the Penguins one night in 1989 against the Islanders. He scored 5 goals that night in 5 different ways: even-strength, power-play, short-handed, penalty shot, and empty net. Amazing!

Well, the Predators cannot seem to get ahead. Everytime I think that they are going to ride some momentum, they lose big. Good news though, I was able to get six lower level tickets from my wife's work for only a little over $100 through a special promotion. That will be three games this season we will be able to go to without having to sit high up in the Sommet Center. Honestly, the upper section is where all of the craziest fans are sothat is where most of the fun is. Now, to find out which games to go to....
