NFL Talk - 2010-11 Season

I listen to him because my boss has him on in the office constantly. Yes, Traber is a local show. The Sports Animal. He occasionally gets callers wanting to fight him. It's like listening to a train wreck.

^ He wants callers to fight him in the name of good, clean Christian humility? :p

So the Bengals announced they won't trade Palmer. They are, of course, the only organization in the NFL that would keep their unhappy players just to spite them (see Corey Dillon) even if it ends up hurting the team.

And Roethlisberger is from Ohio! I guess the state cut ties with him when he donned the black and gold.

Well, at least they're consistent. I mean look at how they treat LeBron James these days. ;)

Big Ben also was a great QB at Miami which led to much of the admiration even after he became a Steeler. Granted Steeler Nation is alive and healthy in Ohio....

As for LeBron... he deserves his exile, so moving on.......

It's not just the fans. Some fellow NFL players were tweeting about Cutler, like Maurice Jones Drew or whatever the heck his name is. Other players tweeted negative comments, too. Like I said, catty women have nothing on these guys. MEEEEOOOOOWWW.

You know how Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew ripped Bears QB Jay Cutler on Sunday after Cutler didn’t return to the game following his sprained MCL (I wrote about it here) ?

Well, apparently, Jones-Drew was just kidding around with Cutler.

Wrote Jones-Drew on Sunday: "Hey I think the urban meyer rule is effect right now... When the going gets tough........QUIT..” He also wrote this, “All I'm saying is that he can finish the game on a hurt knee... I played the whole season on one...”

Said Jones today in an interview with the AP: “I never attacked him, called him soft or a sore loser. I never questioned his toughness. I think people took my joke out of context. I was taking at shot at Florida fans."

Oh, he was joking. Yeah...right. Be a man and admit you were slamming Cutler Loser. Joking...gimme a break. I hate when people look like fools and then claim they were kidding when they most probably weren't.

It looks like the Bears are going to extend Lovie Smith through 2013.

Pretty cool.

It seems to be pretty close. I'm move the Bears territory a little into southern Wisconsin, but that's pretty minor.

Of course, you'd really have to extend Dallas' territory well into Arizona. Hell, when they play the Cards there, you see almost as much blue as you do red—much to my dismay and disgust.

Cowboys' insidious grip stretches across the country (poll in Philly: Most hated team: Cowboys, Second most loved team: Cowboys).

Anyway, that map is really cool. It doesn't do overlaps well, but you can't fault it for that.

Poor Iowa always gets screwed. I know when it comes to baseball, the Cubs, Cardinals, White Sox, Royals and one other team are blacked out.

And I lived in Alabama for 5 years. I was on the Falcons side, but I'm not really sure that the Saints map is that large (except in a bandwagon year. :shifty:)

Huh? I lived in Iowa for eight years and saw just about every Bears game and about 150 Cubs games a year.

Edit: In other news, Jeff Fisher is out as the Titans' head coach.

Bet no one saw THAT coming. I thought the goal was to jettison Young and keep Fisher, but now getting rid of them both? Have fun with your rebuilding years, Titans.

Actually, leaving was Fisher's call. The owner didn't even know it happened when he was asked about it earlier. I must admit I'm shocked.

Well, that sucks. Assuming Fisher got out on his own, I guess I can't blame him.

But damn, that sucks. :( Now let's see who crazy old Bud gets to replace him...

^Unfortunately, I have a hard time seeing the Titans getting anyone all that great right now. This was a sub-par year for number of good HC candidates, and a lot of teams have already picked through them. The Titans are stuck sifting through the dregs now.

Sorry, I Meant for things like MLB.TV and similar programs. I've heard it pretty much blackout hell.

Good move to get rid of Fisher. Things were a mess. Time for a clean slate.

Fisher is also highly overrated by the media. Only 6 winning seasons in 16 years. Only 5 playoff wins (3 in one season).
