If it makes you feel any better Timby, when I looked up that same poll just now Illinois has turned into a red state.

But really, yeah, to me the whole map should be solid green. Vick convicted of heinous acts... Roethlisberger doing some stupid things and being accused of doing bad things but not charged.... and finally.. Cutler... His crimes being he makes stupid faces and he couldn't co-exist with Josh McDaniels :guffaw:
But Vick did his time and "reformed"...:guffaw: And yet you get the Steeler Haters out there condemning the Roethlisberger, NOT, knowing every minute fact of the case.
I still think that Vick absolutely served his convicted time, yet to be propellled as being a "hero" by the media soon after is ridiculous.

^^ It's because there are no professionals in the sports media.

Just a bunch of idiot ex-athletes and jack-asses to fill all those seats on all those damn sports channels.

So is Cutler raping puppies? I can't say I've ever seen or heard of him ever doing anything "bad." "The Roth" either, other than having a ridiculous and unspellable name. Michael Vick? Convicted of pretty fucked-up crimes but, I guess, at least he seems to have done his penance and time for them.

I smell something fishy in that ESPN poll. ;)

Do two sexual assault allegations in a year ring a bell for you?

One in Nevada, one in Georgia?

And it's way too early to canonize him for "reforming".

If that's all they were talking about on ESPN - Cutler quitting - then that's what people are going to vote for.

You just gave me a great idea...I think I will get a "starlette" that is partying and drunk to get me in a bathroom and then yell rape AFTER the fact...maybe Paris or Lindsey will be drunk or stoned enough to be the likely targets....:)

There are a few factors. Primary among them is Cutler himself: He has made it explicitly clear throughout his career that he gives absolutely no fuck what anyone else thinks about him. He's his own guy and he does his own thing. He doesn't like doing interviews, and when he does grant them, he's very terse. That's made him incredibly unlikeable in the eyes of the media.
Oh, honey, I live in the land of Bill Belichick, the crown prince of terse, unlikeable, I don't give a f*ck-ness. This kid is a teddy bear.

Michael Vick is a guy who got convicted, did his time, and has gotten back to playing football well. No need to canonize the guy for doing his job. And, honestly, I'm okay with that.

Yeah, Vick is a QB. The excessive praise was just because sports networks like having a narrative. Apparently the reason to watch football can never just be football. I think Vick has shocked people with where he ended up this season, but I think "overcoming adversity" isn't quite the best phrase to use.

What? So Vick's story of having to serve 21 months in prison during the prime of his athletic career because of a dog fighting ring he ran isn't the same as the story of the baby who was born crack-addicted and premature with a heart condition, whose father was murdered by a drug dealer when he was five, whose mother worked four jobs to support three kids, who got a 3.9 in high school despite having to work a full time job acting like a surrogate father two his two younger siblings and still managed to get an athletic scholarship to Ohio State?

Agreed. Must have missed where Jay had serious legal troubles.

As for Reilly, Cutler didn't slurp Rick Reilly like he so 'deserves' so Reilly fired away on him.

I'm still fairly certain Cutler should have rendered himself cripple for the rest of his life just so I could buy a new T-shirt though.

Regarding the "hate" map. :p to Ohio. Yinz are a buncha jagoffs anyhow, so says this Pittsburgher. :D

With your luck, you'll catch an STD just being in the bathroom with either of them.

So he worked hard to get money together for dog fighting so he could make more,....ON TOP OF WHAT he was making on his NFL contract?...

And Roethlisberger is from Ohio! I guess the state cut ties with him when he donned the black and gold.
Well, at least they're consistent. I mean look at how they treat LeBron James these days. ;)
True, but at least Ben was drafted by Pittsburgh. Now, if he'd been drafted by the Cleveland Browns, played out his rookie contract with them, and then announced on national television that he was taking his talents to another team so he could play with his favorite wide receiver and running back, then yeah, I could see the comparison. ;)

Bears QB Collins injured shoulder vs. Packers, set for MRI... because throwing is hard.

God, I just saw some idiot on Twitter say that if Cutler were really tough, he would have just had a cortisone injection and gone back into the game. As a diabetic, if Cutler were to just take a shot of cortisone willy-nilly, it could potentially kill him.

It wasn't Jim Traber, was it? Because he was saying the exact same thing on the air today. That Cutler could have gotten a shot for the pain and gone on in the game, torn MCL and all. Traber was a pro baseball player, but he played quarterback in college.

He also thinks Cutler looked like a pussy (pansy on the air, but the implication was plain) because he was "so cold" and looked so cold. Roethlisberger from Traber's beloved Steelers didn't "look cold." This is the same Jim Traber who did the 2 day diatribe about how those of us who don't like Michael Vick--even if we acknowledge that legally he should get another chance to play--are basically judgmental scumbags who don't have forgiveness in our hearts and just don't have any Christian character. The day after Vick's Monday Night spectacular against the Redskins. Funny--he had not one word to say after Vick through the final interception of the year against Green Bay. Traber was all over Cutler's case today.

^ Why do you even listen to Traber since he's clearly so stupid and pathetic? Is he strictly a local show? I first heard about him as a radio host when he got into it with Nick Collison and that was enough for me to dismiss him entirely.

Although it would be funny for someone to put his audio clips together so that the "you're judgmental scumbags" and "Cutler's a pussy" tirades play back to back. :)
