Unemployment in the Tampa Bay area is in the double-digits (hovering around 12 percent), and the region itself is very economically depressed. Luxury spending on things like football games is ... problematic.

I'm finally convinced that Chad Henne is not the answer to the QB position in Miami. He really looks lost out there alot of the time.
Seems like everytime the Dolphins are beginning to gain some traction in the playoff race Henne throws the damn game away.
Might as well go be a Bengals fan.

Kyle Orton was pitiful all game. Poor guy is so inconsistent.
I'm glad I live in a market with a team that puts out a good product consistently and has a relatively affluent fan base. No blackouts in this neck of the woods.
Michael Vick and Andy Reid are complaining to the league office that Vick's getting hit too hard and the refs aren't calling it. 
Reid wants NFL to take closer look at hits on Vick
Poor Michael. He scrambles out of the pocket and those mean old boys actually hit him. What a shocking development. It's a bitch when they hit back, isn't it Mike? I can't believe Reid went there. He had to know this would draw ridicule.

Two road wins in a row. Nice. Our defense was great today. Arizona was looking to the waterboy to play QB in the 4th quarter. It was pretty bad.
No matter what else happens the rest of the way, this has been a great year for the Rams. When we get Avery and Clayton back next year...watch out!
If one were to look up the term "ugly win" in the dictionary, I'm quite sure it would say "See KC vs Den 12/5/10 for example." Good lord, happy for the win, but God that was awful. And every time I think I've seen the worst officiating I could see, another game comes along to prove me wrong. And incidentally I mean that both ways, the Chiefs got jobbed several times on calls, but so did the Broncos.

I can't even work up the enthusiasm to be upset or disappointed with Denver anymore. There used to be a day where, even in the middle of a blowout against Denver, nothing would take me away from the game. I would sit there and watch right up to the very last second of a 109-2 loss, and there was nothing important enough to take me away. Now... my Spanish study-buddy wants to work on homework while we're only down by 7 points with lots of game left, and I can't even work myself up to resisting. I just leave now.
You'll find life to be more peaceful that way. I remember the game the Chiefs pissed away to Houston earlier this year and I was miserable the rest of the day and even the next day.
On the one hand, it's great to see the Chiefs actually having something to play for this year, on the other hand, the losses hurt a lot more.
I will admit that a small part of me was cheering for the Chiefs today. If anyone is going to take the West other than Denver, I want it to be the Chiefs. I hate, hate, hate the Raiders and I think Rivers is a prick. So, for the Chiefs to maintain their lead over them (and actually build on it) made me slightly happy. But only slightly.

The Eagles have had the lowest roughing the passer call to sack in the league (although I think it's a bit skewed because Tom Brady gets so many called in his favor). The helmet to ribs hit last game made me wince (and I think another helmet against his leg). These aren't hits while he's running, these are hits when he's acting as a pocket QB. But most of them appear legal, so I don't think Reid will get what he's asking for.
No, I don't think Reid will get it either. The rules are in flux right now. Vick isn't the only QB who gets pounded. Considering his public relations problems, him going on the radio to talk about this instead of having his coach handle it quietly behind the scenes isn't very smart. It comes across as him being nothing but a crybaby. I've seen this story hit a couple of sites. My commentary is mild compared to some.
BTW, what happened with the Ravens? I was following online and they appeared to be in fieldgoal range. Next thing I know, the game is over.
I don't know. I was watching "The Walking Dead" finale.
I didn't watch the game, but from the NFL.com drive charts, it looks like the went for fourth and 2 from the Steeler 31 and didn't get it. My best guess is either A)They wanted to go for the kill rather than risk overtime or B)They wanted to run as much time off the clock as possible before their kick, which meant needing another first down or C)they didn't feel their kicker could make that kick.
