ESPN lays off eight talking heads -- Ryan Clark, Karl Ravech, Cam Newton, Bart Scott, Stephania Bell, Charles Davis and Tom Pelissero.

IIRC, the only one I would miss would be Ryan Clark.

Karl Ravech was a bit more than a "talking head," to be fair. He was the guy for ESPN's baseball coverage for over 30 years. The rest of the cuts don't really surprise me, but that one does.

I thought all the Baseball contracts went to 2028. ESPN was part of the new MLB Contract this last offseason.

NHL contracts with ESPN and TNT end after 2027-28.

The big shocker that doesn't apply to you is CBC losing the NHL, meaning no more free over-the-air hockey games in Canada.

Kyle Shanahan was involved in a car accident and has substantial injuries. That's not good. Hope he will be ok.
