I guess someone finally told him that when the team doesn't care if he plays or not and no one else wants him to be their starter, he has no leverage. Sure it sucks to be underpaid as a starting QB, but this is your last and only chance to actually start (before eventually being benched for the rookie because the team sucks and keeps losing)!
For them to expect him to go stand behind that offensive line for 17 games, he should be making in the ballpark of $20 million.
