NFL 2025: A new era dawns?

For the second time in four weeks, the Jets cut a player for special teams errors. Isaiah Williams fumbled a kickoff and also made a fair catch on his own three yard line.

Earlier, they released Xavier Gipson for his Week 1 special teams fumble.

Looking into it, they had signed Williams to replace Gipson. And Gipson is now an Eagle.

I think the Jets are going to be this way until Woody Johnson sells the team. The football people aren't in charge there.

Several entertaining fixtures across the NFL today. After missing ‘24, the Canton Bulldogs return to defeat the hapless Dayton Triangles 14-0. The Kansas City Cowboys fell to the Akron Pro 14-7. The Chicago Cardinals showed they didn’t need no Milwaukee Badgers as the birds beat the Badgers 34-0. Many are predicting this is the year the Green Bay Packers finally break through to join the ranks of Akron and Frankford as the NFL elite, but playing in their first ever NFL game, the New York Giants sent Green Bay packing 19-0.

Still can't believe the 49ers pulled that game out. It was so dramatic. Now I can relax and watch the rest of the league tomorrow on Red Zone.

It makes my blood BOIL to see see Kevin O'Connell scream for a timeout and then berate the officials after he gets awarded the TO (because the TO he called negated an Vikings INT).

You could clearly hear the whistles blowing while the ball was in the air. The officials were shutting down the play the whole time. You'd get fired from real jobs for that blaming shit.

It's called lying and trying to throw someone else under the bus to get out of your own decision. I never understand why that's okay in sports. When people act that way anywhere else you distance yourself in life.

Sigh. Just don't be a dick. The officials are going to make plenty of REAL mistakes for you to get pissed about. Don't make shit up like a kid who knows the teacher likes him more.

These folks don’t inhabit the same world as me and you.
