NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

Not soon enough. He had been running on fumes after Peyton Manning left for the past 7 years. Damn, has it been that long?

Looks like the 49ers are interested if the deal with the Jets fails.

It will be strange to see him play in a different uniform, and Wisconsin is so different than New York.

Rumor mill says the Patriots are trying to shop Mac Jones around. Who would they replace him with? Draft another QB? Lamar Jackson? A trade would leave Bailey Zappe as the only QB on the roster.

I don't think they have the cap space for what Lamar's seeking.

Still about three weeks before the draft, and I wonder which QB the Texans will end up with? The one with Deshaun Watson's agent or the short one? Frankly, I'm not sure I want either of them, but I'm pretty confident the Texans will draft a QB. Right now Case frigging Keenum and Davis Mills is all we got. LOL

The Texans will take whichever of Stroud or Young that hasn't been drafted by Carolina.

Last couple of years have me convinced dementia is setting in on Belichick.

I don't think it's dementia, I think he's just settled into eking out six to 10 wins a year until he gets the record, so basically two more years, and then he'll hand the team off to his son Steve. He's the God King of Boston football, he knows his job is safe unless he somehow guides them to a 1-16 season or something catastrophic like that. He's got his rings, he's got his money, he just wants to go out on his terms, and his terms are "retire as the coach with the most victories because I fucken' hate Shula."

Yep, the Carolina leftovers. LOL. I'd like to see them surprise everyone and take Anthony Richardson. I'm a tad leery of either Stroud or Young. I'd take Levis over Stroud or Young.

I don't think it's dementia or he's settled into eking out wins; I think he wants to win but he's largely mistaken what seemed to work before with "I had the greatest QB of all time." He'll bring in guys like BOB, Patricia, Judge etc because hey, it worked for him in the past. A lot of things will work when you have a guy like Brady under center. He may have started to realise that in recent years as shown by his sudden willingness to spend in free agency.

Even still, the guy's not that bad. Pats were an absurd once in a lifetime-type play away from winning in Las Vegas last season and a winning record. That's with a truly catastrophic situation on offense all year. The guy knows defense, he knows coaching, but in the end, a coach can only do so much without an elite quarterback (and it doesn't seem like Mac is that).

I'd be surprised if it's Richardson; I think the Texans end up with Young. As a Colts fan, I'm worried enough about the Titans trading up ahead of Indy and grabbing the 3rd QB.

The only thing really holding Belichick back right now is that the NFL has become even more of a quarterback-driven league, and ever since Brady left he hasn't been able to find a replacement that's good enough to keep the team competitive. He's still good at putting a defense together, but defense doesn't win championships anymore.

One that he created.

He did; hence my comment about his specific failings. He has to realise that he can't just throw any old staff together with members of his old boys club just because they had success in the Brady years. Belichick isn't going to win any GM of the year awards anytime soon, that's for sure. Still, 8-9 with that disastrous offense speaks to his coaching ability if nothing else.

Lions trade CB Jeff Okudah, the third overall pick in the 2020 draft, to the Falcons for a fifth-round pick.

Looks like the Commanders are nearing a sale to Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris' group. Just under $6 billion is the reported figure.
