NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

As a 49ers fan, I love the explanation that the 49ers broke the Eagles. It really does look like that is true. That was some collapse.

As for the entire NFC East, what a disappointing weekend they had.

Exactly this. Unfortunately, the stench of Snyder's rot and corruption has permeated the team for so long, they really don't have a clue where to start. I suspect it's going to take at least 2 or 3 seasons before they really start to look like any kind of playoff contender, let alone the championship.

Someone is going to hire one or both of them but I think they're not going to do well. Bellichek is still using some older schemes and while they're solid they have no answer for a lot of the new techniques.

Falcons, hire Belichick, have him hire Roman as OC, trade for Fields and then just run rampant all over the NFC South.

I really struggle to see a good fit for either Belichick or Pete Carroll.

Carroll, I think, even though he made it clear it wasn't his idea to get kicked upstairs to his "advisory" role, just seems too stuck in his ways to be a successful coach anymore.

Maybe he can take over at the University of Washington.

Browns fire OC Alex Van Pelt.

I always have a chuckle when teams fire the non-playcalling coordinator due to an in game meltdown.

One of Belichick's main flaws is that he sticks with people he knows. The idea of him going to a new team and hiring an OC he's never worked with to run a system he hasn't presided over before is farfetched, to say the least.

Fine, swap Belichick for Harbaugh, grab Roman, trade for Fields, and you'd still have a rushing offense that would strike fear in pretty much every defensive coordinator's heart.

Speaking of Harbs, I wonder if he's learned his lesson from spectacularly fucking up his interview with the Vikings last year.

Jim Harbaugh interviewed with the Falcons.

From what I've heard, Arthur Blank is too big of a control freak to go after someone like Harbaugh or Belichick. Unless it's another one of those "I'm going to die soon so I'm willing do whatever it takes to get a championship" situations like with Mike Ilitch and the Tigers or Peter Seidler and the Padres.

Control freak? I’ve heard the exact opposite - Blank is known as one of the better owners around the league because he doesn’t meddle in football decisions and provides ample resources for team building.

I think pretty good. That city is going to be passionate about that game, so that will help.

Personally, I hope for a 49ers/Lions NFC Championship Game.

My ex-girlfriend canceled YouTube TV so I can't watch games anymore, but I imagine a Packers / Lions NFC Championship game at Ford Field would have one of the most electric atmospheres in history.

(Not that I think the Packers' tissue-thin defense can stop a Shanahan offense.)
