NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

Someone suggested that Caleb Williams doesn't have to enter the draft if he doesn't like the team at No. 1 (Bears?) because of all his NIL money. You think that plays a role in staying or leaving early now? If you're expected to go that high you're probably making a lot in NIL, but it's still not pro sports money.

 

Sadly common decency today is the exception and not the rule.

 

The Eagles vs. Bucs game went as expected. I will be surprised if Tampa Bay wins eight games this season.

Last night wasn’t a Mayfield issue. It was a Philadelphia is fucking good issue.

 

Very true. Not all the blame lies with Mayfield. Boneheaded plays at crucial moments were a factor. Philly is too good of a team not to take advantage of mistakes like trying to run up the middle from your own end-zone or a quarterback who goes for the Hail Mary into tight coverage when he could have easily run for a first down. OK, that last one was entirely on Mayfield.

But the Vikings lost. That made me happy.

 

Travis Kelce jersey sales have gone up 400%. If Kelce gets wronged in even the slightest way by the NFL, the Swifties are going to dig up so much dirt on Godell like you would not believe.

Being in Houston, I've had to live through all his escapades. Good thing the Texans got a nice haul for him. Which they've wasted half of it so far. Last year's two 1st round picks are both on IR and neither have contributed much. The two 1st rounders this year are much better though. Stroud looks to be the real deal, so far at least. I'm anxious to see what he does against Pittsburgh this week.

I wouldn’t judge Stroud on this week’s game. That Steeler defense can make experienced QB’s look like ass.

 

Which is why I'm so looking forward to the game. Good test for the rookie. Before the season started, I projected the Texans to have between 5-7 wins this season, and so far at least, it looks like they'll make that. Frankly, with half the starting O-line being out so far this season, I'm surprised they're doing as well as they are.

 

If Stroud gets away without getting hurt and looking like he’s lost out there, I think it will have been a good day for him. Texans are still missing a lot of pieces.
