NFL 2022: The Fall of the "Immunized" Aaron Rodgers

It really is the simple things in life...

Got my copy of Madden 23, immediately went into the roster file and renamed Deshaun Watson to Sex Offender and turned all of his abilities down to zero, still leaving the Browns with his contract.

If only real life was this easy.

They’re a business. As long as fans keep watching and spending money on the product, they have no reason to act.
Pretty much this. The pain has to be felt in their pocketbook or nothing changes. If we are not willing to give up entertainment then nothing will change because we are rewarding their behavior.

Someone forgot to tell the Buffalo coaches that preseason games are for trying out new players and calls, not for running the opposing team trying to do just that into the ground with their first stringers.

I think that this is the season that tells me whether or not Tom Brady is the GOAT.

Bill Belichick continues onto his third season in New England without Brady, Josh McDaniels is in Las Vegas with a pretty good roster. If they both either fall on their faces or are mediocre, it'll show just how important a cog Brady was to pretty much everything the Patriots accomplished.

Roquan Smith ended his hold-in and reported to practice today. I guess he finally realized that the Bears had all the leverage on him and he had nothing, especially once he started missing game checks (and if they were fining him for missed practices).

Did you see the story where "some guy" was calling other teams about trading for Smith? The guy wasn't a recognized agent, just some pal of Smith's apparently.

Herschel Walker declined to participate in a political debate on Thursday, Oct. 13, because he says no one will see when when they're watching Sunday football instead. :wtf:

Kinda the political equivalent of running out of bounds to avoid contact, as he did so often when he played.

By now, I’m sure most of us have heard the reports that the Raiders had a deal in hand that would have gotten them Tom Brady for Derek Carr, essentially. This was when Brady was looking to leave New England. According to reports, Brady wanted the Raiders, but the deal fell throigh because Gruden nixed it.

Gruden has gotten roasted a bit for this supposed situation. But I can at least see his position. Carr is much younger, still has a pretty high ceiling, and the Raiders didn’t have a good enough team to fully take advantage of Brady’s skills.

But the silver lining for me is that, if true, this story may be confirmation of the story I’v been hearing for months now, that Josh McCaniels liked Carr ao much, he tried to trade for him before leaving NE.

Makes me understand more why McDaniels chose the Raiders.

Bills P Matt Araiza accused of gang rape, along with two others, that happened last year while at San Diego State.

The Bears picked up OL Alex Leatherwood off waivers. He was the Raiders' 2021 first round pick, but never panned out in LV. If nothing else, he's young and hasn't been injured.

Our O-Line has been the worst for years. Maybe they can give Fields more than 2 seconds to throw a pass this year.

Wow... They are really putting their eggs into that basket, aren't they? Kind-of feels like RG3 all over again. He seems like a nice guy, doing a lot of local community outreach programs and all, but he hasn't really done anything of substance yet for the team. Which is understandable, because we are technically still in pre-season and regulation week 1 doesn't start until Sep 8. It's starting to get a little silly. I hope Denver's front office isn't making a big mistake with this one.

"But he has a proven track record!" one might say? Yep. So did Joe Flacco when he joined Denver for a brief time in 2019. He also walked in through the front door with a shiny (relatively) new Superbowl ring, too, and we saw how well that worked out for everyone concerned. He now does his thing for the Jets and is doing fair-to-midland. Donovan McNabb was also supposed to be the next big thing with the Redskins' 2010 season. He got ultra-hyped when he signed. Another whiff job.

Seems that nobody knows how to "keep it real" anymore. I dunno... we'll see. I'm just afraid Denver is jinxing itself over all this hype. I've pretty much given up on Washington for the time being. I don't even know who their starters are any more. :(

Russell Wilson is not Joe Flacco. Not remotely. Imagine the price tag if Wilson somehow takes Denver to the Super Bowl. Better to lock in a number now than have franchise tag drama next Spring.

Deshaun Watson wouldn’t have been a bad contract if not for extenuating circumstances. It simply is the going rate for a top tier QB.
