NFL 2020 Season: We're gonna bite a kneecap off

Yeah, has the tone that he thought he’d do better, burned the bridge, and then didn’t get the number of offers he hoped for. Don’t like it, it’s just kinda sad...

I'm not sure I entirely think it's a great idea, but here's some reasons at least.

From there, it's

1. Offensive Weapons
2. Salary Cap Space (not just him but other positions)
3. Coach Who Wants to Win Now
4. Ownership That Needs Him
5. Superbowl in Tampa
Bonus: TB12 synergy.

It's unfortunate but not surprising. I've been prepared for Brady leaving the Patriots for a while now, whether it was through retirement or free agency. I can't say I blame him for going after one last big payday before finally hanging it up.

If Tom goes anywhere else, we'll get to see how good he really is outside the Belichick world, and vice versa, if the "system" works as well with another QB. I'd guess apart, they'll be good, but not great.
Brady’s in his 40’s, isn’t he? So I don’t think what he does in the next two to three years an be used to gauge how good a player he “really” is. I think Belichek’s system will work pretty well with a new QB of reasonable ability, but I wouldn’t be making any Super Bowl plans if I were one of their fans.

But this is why I’m so glad the Raiders decided to go in a different direction. At this point, I think Brady will require a Patriots type machine around him in order to be successful. The Raiders do not possess such a machine.

Derek Carr should be very worried. The last time Gruden zeroed in on a veteran QB for the Raiders, it turned out to be Rich Gannon and Marriotta is younger and more talented.

Why? I can understand he wants to still play, but this stinks of money grab. It isn't for glory because Tampa is a perpetual .500 team and no amount of Brady is going to drag them any closer to be a contender. In fact, it's an unfortunate asterisk at the end of a career where he had done all there was to do.

Agreed. Tampa's gonna Tampa no matter who their QB is. They might show some improvement minus that 30/30 guy though, 9-7?

Maybe, but there was a noticeable uptick this year in throws that were just bad. Not dropped, not low percentage, just not hitting open people. Still top 3rd of QBs even with the dropoff, but definitely started noticing some cracks here and there. I'd have still taken him back, but the decline is definitely here.

Jags deal Nick Foles to the Bears for a conditional fourth-round pick.

The Bears have managed to trade for ex-Eagles SB QB Nick Foles. Chicago's 4th round compensatory pick goes to the Jaguars.

Losing Chase Daniel to the Lions doesn't look so bad now. Hoping Foles can regain some of that magic.

Looks like the end of the Cam Newton-era in Carolina, as the Panthers sign Teddy Bridgewater to a three-year deal with $40 million guaranteed.

Cam hasn't even been good for a while, plus he's injury prone. He can be "miffed" all he wants, but the Panthers made the right call.

I feel bad for Newton, honestly. They never seemed interested in teaching him how to play QB, he was more a 240 pound fullback that threw the football sometimes. He's taken a hell of a beating in his career.

Was he ever interested in being a proper QB? Some of these running QB's only want to be running QB's, so that's how they get utilized.

It's so hard being a Lions fan. If Nick Foles was available for so little, why did we settle for Chase Daniel?

The Bears have had a few up years in the last few decades, but you guys....jeez.

I still can't figure why Detroit always gets the Thanksgiving day game when they've been so bad for so long. Dallas hasn't been too good either. They should rotate that "honor".

Rams release Todd Gurley.

Just wow. Two years ago, I thought he was going to go on to become an all-time great. Cruel when the body betrays you.
