NFL 2018 Season

Better to lay a big egg on the road now, than in January.

As far as losses go, this one isn't bad in terms of the overall picture. The Rams still control their own destiny for a first round bye, and have a pretty tame schedule the rest of the way (Eagles, Cardinals, 49ers).

Like I've said a few times, I don't watch football anymore, but during the sports segment on the news here in Madison, they focused almost exclusively on Mack giving Goff hell all night long. Although Trubisky's numbers look like shit; if the Bears make the playoffs they're almost certain to get bounced in the first round.

I don't know about that, they'll likely be playing their first playoff game at home and I like the defense to help them through a cold January day in Chicago.

Yeah but it wasn't just that.

Goff missed several wide-open throws to go along with his 4 interceptions. And Gurley hardly touched the ball at all. I don't know what was going on in McVay's mind, but I didn't like the game plan or the execution on offense.

I think the weather being so far out of Goff's comfort zone must have something to do with it. You have to think he'll bounce back next week at home against that Eagles secondary.

This. I'd expect Chicago to survive the Wild Card round, then get bounced the following week in either LA or New Orleans.

New England.

Gronk...

Well, against all odds, Gruden has the Raiders actually competing. Minus the radical personnel decisions, this season is reminding me of Gruden's first season with the Raiders. That season, the team started out looking over matched game after game until the back half of the season when they started looking like a team.

That season ended with a memorable upset of the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Next season they took off. I'm hoping that history "repeats itself once again".

Tiki Barber is making his Broadway debut. Here's hoping his timing will be better than his exit from the Giants.

Tiki Barber, who played ten seasons for the New York Giants and was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 2011, will step into the role of Don in the Tony-winning Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

[...]

“I am so excited to be making my Broadway debut in Kinky Boots,” Barber said in a statement. “I was very fortunate to be part of the New York Giants for ten years and feel incredibly lucky to be joining another New York institution: Broadway.”

Chicago Bears, NFC North Champions....it's been too long.

5 sacks and an INT of Rodgers, a good game from Trubisky, good special teams play.

Despite almost trick-playing themselves out of a win, they made a nice comeback and finally got that green & yellow monkey off their back.
