The problems, that Enterprise had, are the typical problems for a prequel, we know, how everything turns out, we can reasonable assume, that the ship and crew will survive to the last episode, and we know what races are there to meet and how their character ist, so they have big problems im building a story, that draws the viewer in.
The creators of Enterprise tried not to violate established canon to much and they were hindered by that in trying to write new problems and ended up with an very large number of mediocre standard-unimaginetive-trek-problem-of-the-week episodes and yet they twisted the existing universe enough, when not doing the alien-or-nebula-of-the-week, to upset the long time fans.
