next Star Trek movie delayed

Next year (2015) isn't the 50th anniversary, and I can't recall ever seeing anything involving Paramount expressing any such plans for a 2015 release.
While I agree that I've never seen anything about a 2015 release before, you could argue that they should start counting from "The Cage" in 1965 instead of when "The Man Trap" aired in 1966.

No earlier anniversary has ever used that basis, but it could be justified if Paramount was skittish about the heavy 2016 schedule alluded to above and wanted to try to push it out earlier.

No. Star Trek premiered on September 8th 1966.
"The Cage" was never aired as part of the show.

+1

first draft has been completed according to trekmovie, so things are beginning to shape up. filming should start this winter or early next year.

JJ Abrams would be finishing star wars by then as a director so I hope he can take his producer role seriously instead of just stamping his name on star trek 3.

There's no reason to think he won't, even if he's still working on Star Wars. He's pretty dedicated to his craft.

Well, it did air on TV, but not until 1988, making it the final episode of TOS ever aired -- which is presumably why it's the last episode on the TOS bluray set.

I hope so. Rumors has it that Christopher Nolan just stamped his name on man of steel as a producer and he had nothing to do with the film in reality. I do not wish the same for JJ.

JJ needs to keep a watchful eye on Trek 3.

Yeah, regardless of what people may think of his work, J.J. doesn't half-ass anything. If he's listed as a producer, he'll do his job, and he'll do it well.
