News Next Arrowverse Crossover to Include Batwoman

Maybe this makes sense if you've read the comics, but why was Deegan's face all leathery like that at the end?

In-story, presumably he was scarred by the destruction of the Book of Destiny. In reality, it's apparently to mimic the face of the comics character he was based on, Doctor Destiny (John Dee).

Ah, ok. Thanks. :)

I think we can all agree that Superman should get his own show ASAP.

We do not all agree, just because you think so.

No, we can't all agree on this.

I really like Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch's versions of Clark and Lois, but a series featuring them really wouldn't provide anything that isn't already being delivered by Supergirl.

I'm still on season 1 of Supergirl.... It was the crossovers that convinced me to watch it. And yup. We do not NEED a Superman show. Could it be fun? Maybe. But like you said, everything a Superman show could be, is being done on Supergirl, and I'm still in season 1. I'd rather see the Batwoman show they might make.

We've had plenty of Superman or almost-Superman shows already -- Adventures of Superman, Superboy, Lois & Clark, Smallville. Not to mention the animated shows -- The New Adventures of Superman, Super Friends, Ruby-Spears Superman, Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League/JL Unlimited, Legion of Super Heroes, Justice League Action. I like it that we're finally getting shows spreading the love to other DC heroes instead of just doing Superman and Batman all over again.

Yeah, while I think Tyler is great, what would they do that Supergirl isn’t?

And, what characters and stories would they be allowed to do? The Movie division would have a say.

Have him show up from time to time. But, no regular series.

Except, um ... Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch's versions of Clark and Lois? I'd like to think that even superhero shows are about the characters first and foremost, not mere plot mechanics and genre formula.

Sure, Sm and Sg have the same powerset, but that's no reason separate shows featuring them couldn't have distinct approaches. For one thing, Clark is about to become a husband and father, which puts him in a very different place as a character than Kara. His role as "Superdad" in recent years in the comics has been a very fruitful development IMO, and marriage and fatherhood feels like a natural fit for Superman.

A creative writer could find all sorts of ways to tell different kinds of stories about two different Kryptonian heroes. Hell, even the various Superman TV series don't often feel much like each other, or repeat the same tones and approaches; Adventures of Superman is not the same show as Lois & Clark, which is not the same show as Smallville, etc.

So are we drawing up wishlists for multiversal guest-stars in COIE?
Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman.

This. So this. All the Arrowverse shows have shown us that the biggest DC heroes aren't needed to make quality shows. I mean, right now, Sara Lance is my biggest hero! So fuck this 'we NEED a Batman or Superman show'. That's bullshit. Right now, Arrow, Flash, Supergirl and their cast are killing it. FUCK BATMAN AND SUPERMAN!!!!

I agree. Supergirl basically is Superman in the Arrowverse. One thing I liked about "Smallville" is that we got to see Superman before he became Superman so they are going to need to find a new hook like that if they ever want to do a Superman show. For example I always wondered what would Superman be like if society fell apart. Put that character in a "Walking Dead" enviroment but no zombies of course and see how he functions. I don't know if anything like that has ever been done in the comics but I always found the idea to be interesting.

I want Detective Chimp, preferably on LEGENDS. Really.

Yes. Budgetarily speaking, he'd have to be an occasional guest character like Grodd (because it would be inhumane to force a real baby chimp to do it as they would've done pre-CGI), but Detective Chimp (does he have another name?) would fit in perfectly on Legends.

And I'm still waiting on the Spectre and Deadman . . ....

I'm still relieved we were spared any more appearances by Emmett Scanlan's Jim Corrigan on Constantine. He was utterly awful in the role, and I'm not looking forward to seeing him as Lobo on Krypton next season.

After seeing her in "Elseworlds," I'm really looking forward to the Batwoman show. But I continue to have zero interest in a Batman show, as I have for years. I also agree that Superman is doing fine in Supergirl, and I love the new Lois.

Were any of the SG regulars?
Not really. Hell, they didn't really bother to show Braniac 5 actually taking out Amazo. He just popped up at the end of the fights with - "Hey, here's Amazo's Motherboard..." As for Martian ; blink and you missed him onscreen. Gary from LoT had more screentime.

Personally given the "Crisis of Infinite Earth's" ORIGINAL storyline:
Given they WON'T kill Supergirl or Flash - I think BOTH Oliver (Arrow will be in S8) and Superman (because hey, who needs him on the Supergirl series, right? (As by his own dialogue per the show's writers he's "less" a hero than Kara) will get what the showrunners consider "Heroic" deaths.

I'm amazed they haven't run into Zatanna, with her magic and her history with Constantine she seems like an obvious choice for a guest appearance.
ok that's pretty cool :D

You know I wonder if they could get a Batman somehow now Gotham is finishing - Titans will have him apparently played by a stuntman
Nope, I just read that he's still off limits to the Arroiwverse.
I came up with a opening narration for the Batwoman show.
"Three years ago, Batman disappeared. Without it's greatest protector, it's Dark Knight, Gotham City descended into chaos. I couldn't stand by and watch this happen, so I became it's new protector, it's new Dark Knight. My name is Kate Kane, and I am Batwoman."

I thought of a couple possibilites here.
Maybe the flash forwards are actually a set up for a permanent time jump to the future after they kill Oliver, or perhaps Emiko will take over as the only GA.
