NEWSFLASH: Global Warming is a FARCE

Alright folks...are you ready to eat a load of crow? I know...I know...you all think I'm crazy and all, but I think it's time for all you Global Warming Zombies to start facing the facts.

Alan Carlin, an EPA scientist, wrote a 98-page report stating that Global Warming doesn't exist. You may have heard about this if you watched some unbiased news over the past couple of days. He states that over the past 11 years...yeah...including those nasty 8 year of that evil Bush Administration, global temperatures have gone DOWN...yes down. And guess what???? CO2 levels have gone UP. So...what does that say about you all's little theory about Global Warming? It's a FARCE...a HOAX, just another scheme to control the people of the world.

And on top of Alan Carlin's report, that got squashed by the EPA who's reasoning was that that report wasn't "helpful" to their cause...yeah, there's no politicalization [of the issue] there, is there?, that many of those world scientists that the Global Warming Prophet Al Gore had in his pocket are now coming out and saying that yes, the science is not accurate, and Global Warming doesn't exist.

So, like I've said in the past, how come that back in the '70s when cars were burning leaded gasoline and getting 8 mpg, people warned of an ice age, and now that cars are burning much cleaner fuels with stricter emmision standards and with most cars getting 20+ mpg, the Marxists (read: Global Warming Alarmists) are warning of Global Warming. It just makes no sense.

And TerriO before you say that this is bringing politics into a scientific issue, let me just say that this whole issue is and always has been POLITICAL. That's all it was...it had nothing to do with science...it had to do with self-righteous politicians using an issue that they have strong interest in, that really couldn't be proven, (based on only 100 years worth of data, mind you) to control the populace of the world. And for someone like Al Gore, make filthy rich. He pulls in $200K a frikkin' speach, all the while flying around in a Gulf Stream V jet. Yeah...that's livin' green.

And then finally, the US House narrowly passed the "Cap & Trade" bill the other day which essentially is a Ration Energy and Make Carbon Credits Worth Something Again bill. Folks get ready to pay a shit load of more taxes on anything that uses energy to produce....including your food at the grocery store. Hope you all are proud of your Congressman who voted "Yes" on this thing.

Oh and for all those wonderful "Green Jobs" that this bill is supposed to create? Prepare to lose 2.25 jobs for every 1 green job you create. So for every 4 green jobs you create, you'll lose 9 regular jobs. Yep...unemployment is gonna soar. That'll be just great.

I think you meant Alan Carlin, EPA economist. And his "report" (I use that in the loosest sense) was ignored because it was full of scientific inaccuracies and outright lies. http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2009/06/bubkes/.

The shocking claim that temperatures haven't increased in 10 years (Oh no!) is meaningless. Anyone can pick out 8-10 year intervals when temperatures didn't increase, such as from 1977-1985 or during the 1981-1989 period. However, temperatures have increased significantly in the 2000-2008 interval (OMG!) - see, I can also cherry-pick data points to make a trend! Also, I thought you said that 100 years of data wasn't enough to draw conclusions, so how is a 10 year interval significant?

Besides, the fact that you think all of this is based on 100 years of data is a bit laughable. We now have a high-resolution record of temperature and pCO2 for the past 2.1 million years (incidentally, today's temperature and CO2 concentrations are higher than any time in that interval), and medium-resolution data for the whole Cenozoic.

Seriously though, I can appreciate where you're coming from on this, because you (like many others) have been mislead by a misleading term. These terms often just crop up and stick, and then we later discover that they're innacurate to the extreme.
For example a "nuclear meltdown." This term came about because some people believed that in the case of a nuclear disaster, the reaction core was going to turn into a big molten ball and basically melt right down to the core of the earth. Pretty silly huh? In reality it will get hot and melt, but as soon as it melts into something else (like concrete) the reaction stops.

Similarly the term "global warming" came about because it was assumed that the result of excess CO2 would be a roundabout rise in global temperatures. In reality weather patterns are far more complex. I've heard a more accurate term is simply "global weirding" (though of course no such terms describe fully enough the effects of the pollutants being released.)
But yes, the result is that weather gets weird. Hurricanes and tornadoes out of season, total yearly precipitation taking place within an area in just a few months, drought in other areas, cooling, warming, etc.

So please, keep in mind that all you've done is what many others did years ago, prove that the term "global warming" is inaccurate.

As for everything else in your post, it is too politically-charged to warrant any serious discussion in this forum, or many others.

I really love the way that when one report comes out at denies global warming it's held up as proof undeniable that it's all a hoax, but when there's a numerous reports that say the opposite they aren't believed.

I also find it funny that many on the conservative side the deny we're experiencing climate change because there's no proof yet have a deep belief in God for which there is no proof of existance.

And i have to wonder if this thread also constitutes trolling given the manner in which the OP has posted, his topic and that he only seems to popup when he has stuff like this he start threads on.

By the way, I looked up Alan Carlin on Google, and all I found were Conservative blogs and Conservative news sites talking about a controversy. None of the ones I checked linked his data. That being said, from what I did read, Carlin's not saying global warming is a farce, he's saying that the EPA should re-examine it's data. Dr Taylor had obtained funding to attend this week's meeting of the PBSG, but this was voted down by its members because of his views on global warming. The chairman, Dr Andy Derocher, a former university pupil of Dr Taylor's, frankly explained in an email (which I was not sent by Dr Taylor) that his rejection had nothing to do with his undoubted expertise on polar bears: "it was the position you've taken on global warming that brought opposition".

What part of this issue is all about politics do you not understand? This is all about politicians using junk science to control people. And the people are beginning not to stand for it.

Hell, listen to the meteorologists at the major weather services...they say it's total bunk. The crazy weather patterned, ie. global weirding, are just that...crazy. It has nothing to do with climate change. Weather tends to run in cycles...about 15-30 year cycles. We're just in the middle of one of those cycles. That's it...it has nothing to do with CO2 in the air.


And re: the polar bears...that picture used by Al Gore showing a couple of polar bears on a thin "melting" ice berg had nothing to do with Global Warming. It was just a random photo taken on a lone drifting (and old) ice berg that had naturally melted as it drifted away from the colder polar ice packs.

The polar bear population has actually increased in recent years. So once again, Al Gore is lying out of his ass.
