I'm not the one making the claim, and I'm not the one who started a thread entitled "NEWSFLASH: Global Warming is a FARCE", and I didn't attribute words to Alan Carlin. You make the assertion, you provide the data.

I didn't make the claim...I'm just the messenger. Alan Carlin made the claim...so read his report. It's shorter than the 1800-page bullshit bill that the House just passed. Or are you too lazy to Google?

Arctic ice is being constantly monitored by US Army buoys. The latest reading given by a typical sensor shows that since last March the ice has thickened by “at least half a metre”.

You made the claim when you started this thread, now back it up, and again, please don't make it personal.

This data supports the idea that the area over the Pacific Northwest and Alaska is becoming warmer, and indicates a climatological shift. This is only one example, and there is data to support it.

Serious question: Has this forum always attracted the intellectually "innocent", or is this strictly a recent trend? (I'd site specific examples, but fear it would impossible to do so without it being considered flaming. Besides, we all know the crowd I'm talking about, right?)
If the current weather trends aren't warming, I WONDER just why those glaciers which are thousands of years old are melting away . . .
Oh...I don't know...maybe perhaps we're finally fully coming out of the last Ice Age that we had thousands of years ago?
What makes you people think that glaciers extending down into the 60 degree Latitude range is normal?
Remember, the ages of the dinosaurs were measured in the MILLIONS of years...and the Earth went through numerous climate changes then, so taking an Ice Age that occurred 10 thousand years ago, is a drop in the bucket in terms of time. So the fact that glaciers are melting up in Alaska is no surprise.
Like I said, you alarmists are only using a hundred or so years in your climate models, so don't be surprised if there's a good portion of the population doesn't believe everything you're saying.

You made this thread political with the first sentence. You don't get to point fingers and have people take it seriously.
Nothing that Carlin says is going to shatter any sensible person's ideology, because he lacks the qualifications necessary to be taken seriously. He's speaking of things that are well outside his area of expertise. The man isn't a EPA climate scientist, but an EPA economist. He's a friggin' accountant. His opinion and interpretation of data is no more compelling than some deranged TrekBBSer claiming that mammoths can be cloned from dino DNA.
Why would you think we're coming out of an ice age while simultaneously maintaining that the Earth is actually getting cooler? Forgot which side of the argument you were on, or what?

Well, I read the PDF file. At some points I couldn't put my finger on it but there was something familiar about some of the data, climate models and the text itself. Then I did a quick zip around Google, and sure enough, some of it's from Ken Gregory's own findings. Ken Gregory is a part of the "Friends of Science" group, an oil industry funded group of retired persons from Canada, who work against current climate change theories.
What is the peer reviewed findings on this data, because quite a bit of the data mentioned is inaccurate or more of a pseudo science, including astrology and linked CO2 and human prosperity at one point in the article. What are the peer reviews for this work? What are the checks and balances?
That is the third time I have asked you not to make it personal. Please don't do it again.
