Now that there's a tentative agreement, maybe we'll see some more movement on Legacy.
Talked to him after the strike ended and his reply was “I wish”.

In any case, SAG personnel are still on strike, so even if they do get back to writing new stories (provided the currently-titled "tentative agreement" becomes permanent), production will still be on pause until that all gets worked out. It ain't over yet...

I suppose it's within the realm of possibility that they've secretly given the greenlight to something with Jack Crusher, Seven of Nine, and Q, and it's without Terry Matalas' involvement... but the odds seem... slim?

There was an old TrekBBS poll that I necro voted in by accident ages ago. I voted about wanting all of the Star Trek series offered as options in the poll other than Section 31 and Academy. Guess what we end up getting….. Section 31 and Academy.
Academy idea has grown on me though because I like Michelle Yeoh. Prodigy was like the ‘Academy’ show to me and now they have cancelled that.
I will assume this was to be "Section 31" because Yeoh is not a part of the Academy series.
Though, I'll admit I do find it a strange coincidence that the ones you didn't vote for are supposedly going forward.
Unless I'm wrong, wouldn't they have to pay residuals to Matalas forever if they used Jack Crusher as an ongoing character?
Depends on how the contract was structured.
Odds are good that yes they would have to pay in some fashion when it came to an original character.
