News? Stories from Dubious Sources

;) Should I post a "wink" emoji next time I want to have a little fun or would the way too serious folks miss that too.
That would be helpful, yes. Humor doesn't carry across in text.

Also, there has been a shit ton of these types of links being shared. So, yeah, we're going to take it at face value without any other context clues.

So the rumor suggests that this Emma Watts is the issue in the firing. Apparently she's "the newly appointed President of Paramount Motion Picture Group." Not sure how Kurtzman's streaming shows have anything to do with the Motion Picture Group. But I'm sure there's a conspiracy theory out there that takes care of that (not so) minor issue.

The Truth Is Out There.

Hey, look! Kurtzman was fired. Again!

Again. Whatever. Obviously people take themselves and their favorite subjects much too seriously. I was having a little fun which obviously failed to penetrate the shields of some folks.

I mean. I literally summarized that entire article here yesterday so folks could avoid giving a dumb clickbait site some clicks.

Plenty of us are happy to have fun in life, even when it comes to our favorite subjects. Shock and awe! The trouble is that in order for a joke to land, it has to be remotely apparent that it is a joke, and a link with zero context is a very poorly-told joke at best.

Once more. Whatever.

Perhaps the joke wasn't funny...

...with all due respect to Data ;)

It's a joke that anybody reads those sites.

Only reason I fell down the rabbit hole myself was because a very gullible friend of mine told me there were “some bad rumors floating around” and linked me the stupid article. I proceeded to break it all down for him bit by bit as to why he should stop believing any such dreck.

Once more. Whatever.

Actually, you were correct to post that link here, since this is the 'Stories from Dubious Sources' section. However, in my opinion it would have helped if you had given a summary of what the link said, rather than just the link itself, so that we didn't have to click on it and give WGTC publicity. WGTC is a notorious clickbait site.

Ah, nothing like waking up on a Sunday morning and reading all the current Star Treks have been cancelled and Kurtzman has been fired. It's a new week, so of course we need to air that old chestnut out again.

With today being the 23rd, I'm guessing the next reported cancellation and firing is due around mid-September?
