News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Picard season 2, Strange New Worlds and Discovery season 4. We'll get at least one of those in 2021, maybe two...

That is extremely optimistic. As I already noted, Ontario is Canada's second hardest hit province from Corona, with over a hundred new cases being reported daily. Plus experts expect a second wave of Corona to hit all over Canada in September or October. I'll be very surprised if season 4 really does start filming on that date.
And the shooter was someone posting in this thread:eek:
*murder mystery music plays*
Horatio Cain stares at a piece of fabric.
Cop: "What do you make of it, Detective?"
Cain: "Looks to me like" [slaps sunglasses on] "Trek BBS thread."

I think they will. They'll have to. Business is business. Besides, the curve is going down in Canada, so are the people dying from Covid19.

They will probably need to quarantine people working on the show, whilst in Toronto.

But if the experts are right and a second wave does indeed hit in September or October, it's going to trigger another nation-wide lockdown. And I'm pretty sure there won't be any shows filming in the country under those circumstances.

All depends on if this 2nd wave happens and if this wave is worse than the first one. Otherwise, a complete lockdown will probably not be necessary. We'll see what happens. I expect them filming season 4 in October.

Also vaccine development is looking positive.

Also, if they can track numbers accurately...:shifty:

I don't want to get too much into this as this isn't the right forum, but I am apprehensive of both at the moment. Everything is far too politicized.

I'm not. I agree that everything is far too politicized but the more I read studies regarding this virus the less I fear it. And I'll not live my life in fear.

Eh, biology.

Regardless, I do not believe this virus is as bad as it was projected to me, and I'm not going to be apprehensive over it either.

Sigh. You do you. I'm apprehensive about the political issues surrounding the numbers reported and the attempts to create a vaccine, not as much the virus itself as it pertains to me. Regardless, this has gone on too long. Back to discussing Star Trek.

There's a reason why I live out in the middle of acreage

Disco season 3 has been shot. The last I heard, they were in post-production working on scoring which is taking considerably longer than normal because they're needing to record every instrument individually. I imagine season 3 will straddle 2020/2021 for its run. But I do think you're right that Lower Decks season 2 will probably be the only new Trek we see in its entirety in 2021. As for 2022? We'll see what happens with COVID.

Yea, season 3 is done and in post-production. I still say we don't see it this year, and the reason I'm betting that on is that 2021 will be a Trek drought for us since filming is stalled until ____. So I'm guessing Season 3 will be held over until 2021 even if post-production is completed this year (along with maybe LDS season 2) to make that drought not feel so dry.

Even with vaccine development progressing rather positively, I don't see one happening within a year like many, including reputable sources, claim.

I’ve heard lots of people like this, until they’re drowning in their own juices. I don’t think this virus is anything to downplay.
I'm not saying don't take precautions, but apprehension is just lowering my immune response. I wear a mask if (big if right now) I'm around people. I live on 5 acres, with several hundred feet between me and the nearest person. I wash my hands because that was drilled in to me by my mom since I was 5. I cover sneezes, wash, and am careful. There have been little over a thousand cases reported in the 5 counties around were I live. I eat right, exercise, take my vitamins and don't talk to strangers.

I live my life. The statistics simply don't have me worried.

Other people are welcome to take their precautions.

If Disco is really doing S4 & 5 back to back, does this imply any of the following?:
  • Section 31 is no longer moving forward as it was originally supposed to start after S3 was completed
  • Season 5 will be the last season of Discovery.
  • SNW will be produced in parallel to Disco s4/5
    • If S31 is still happening, it could be done in parallel prior to SNW.
