News? Stories from Dubious Sources

To be fair, people were getting killed either way. The whole Burnham thing never sat right with me. Starfleet wasn't prepared and they used her as a scapegoat.
Given assaulting a a superior officer, attempting to usurp lawful chain of command, and disobeying a direct order resulting in death of a fellow officer there was still going to be a punishment. Yes, the war wasn't her fault but her behavior was still problematic and warranted actions .

Yeoh is a great actor, but the Georgiou character was pretty much an idiot masquerading as another idiot, Picard. She lacked any common sense. The "Vulcan hello" should've been base training for Starfleet officers dealing with the Klingon Empire.

They literally have penal and asylum facilities in TOS era. Burnham's punishment was consistent with TOS view of punitive measures.

She disobeyed a direct order, and got people killed.
Actually, she assaulted and incapacitated her Superior officer. Her actions in and of themselves didn't kill anyone and T'Kuvma would have started the war regardless of those actions (the Federation Admiralty didn't know that though); and they needed a scapegoat to cover for their misread of the situation and she was both convenient and willing because she DID feel her actions lead to the death of a Captain she saw as a mother figure. (Which IMO was also a problem in itself.)

She disobeyed an order of not killing T'Kumva.

To be fair the Vulcan Hello is reminiscent of finding Minbarri out in the middle of space.
But something....something, in the beginning we refused to talk about Minbar.
