Newer pictures of Playmates Enterprise, action figures and other toys

Re: Newer pictures of Playmates Enterprise, action figures and other t

All this reminds me of the TMP action figures from 1979. I still have all of mine, even though Spock is missing some paint and they're not in their original packaging.

You know, as much as I hope the toys and whatnot are successful (and many do look neat), I can't help but get this feeling that they will pull an Indy 4 and flop sales-wise. I hope I am wrong on this.

^ I'm afraid I have a similar fear.

Looks like the Classic Enterprise is gonna be the Trek XI Version.
(with RED NACELLES no less)

Wonder how this is 1/50th scale????
Must be a typo.

These things better look more detailed in person...they are gonna sell for about $12 bucks a piece!

That was questioned earlier, when the preorder was announced a few weeks ago.

Ahhh...

...Well He/She is right... Those are gonna be "...Some Big Ass Hot Wheels!..."

So if they are about 3 to 5 inches long, What Would the Correct Scale be??

>Thinkin' Out Loud<

What I'd really love to have is an N-Guage Scale Model of the Nu-terprise Under Construction, so I could add it to my current train layout.

Yep. If it's a typo, it's a persistent typo.

Re: Newer pictures of Playmates Enterprise, action figures and other t

It actually doesn't look bad at all to me, although I do wish that they would have the classic Grey Lady as well.

True. But to be fair, they're pimping the new movie this year. So while I'm sure we'll see the Classic ship again in that scale it probably won't be until at least another sales quarter or 2010 at the earliest.

My local Kroger store still has INDY action figures in its toy aisle marked down to three for ten bucks or something similar. The figures(characters from all four movies)came out when the movie did last summer but most sold poorly.

You know I'm probably going to get flamed for saying this but until someone pointed out that this was the Abrams version I thought that WAS the TOS Enterprise. (and yes I know there different designs)

Actually, only figures from Raiders and Crystal Skull came out last summer. ToD and LC were suppose to follow later that summer, but the line was doing very poorly, so they were pushed back until before Christmas time when a few were issued to stores. In fact, I believe that ToD figures were mostly online-only, which sucks, because that usually means the prices are usually jacked up and I really wanted to get a Mola Ram figure.

In fairness, at that angle and at quick glance, it could be easily confused.

Not to mention the red nacelle caps make the ship look more like the TOS version.

There's a subtle difference. If you look closely, the Abrams version has a visible window on the bridge exterior.
