It's only a big deal for England not to make it for the English. They weren't at the last big championships and no one missed them at all.

I beg to differ even other football player & legends said it didn't feel the same wihtout England not too mention the amount of money loss since England is the most supported international team in the world with fans that spend more than any other fans.

English fans have a chip on there shoulder because we get so much anti english grief like the last few posts.

Yes, the USA almost always qualifies, since North America has 3 (+1) secure quota spots and the US and the Mexican teams are by far the strongest in that region, so the USA has a relatively easy way into the World Cup compared to most other regions.

True, a fair few people did pop up and say it wasn't the same without them actually. Perhaps it wasn't - England do have some immense support. But ultimately Euro 2008 was such a brilliant tournament I don't think England were missed at all. We'll see what they bring to the World Cup. On present form, they're probably equal to many of the other teams going - good but not spectacular. If Brazil and Spain drop off a little, it could be a very open tournament. I usually do 'support' England at the World Cups in fact - I just don't mind too much if/when they get knocked out/do something stupid

England will get all the way to final and lose to Brazil.

No, that's usually Italy that lose the finals to Brazil. When we are not kicked out early but something stupid like South Korea, I mean.

I find it particularly annoying when my fellow Brits make such jokes, as if they've forgotten that France was our most fearsome military opponent for centuries.

I personally don't like the German jokes. They are almost always about the war and totally ignores the fact that the only way we beat the German army was to gang up on them with others and even then we got our asses kicked so many times.

If someone would make a joke about Italian tanks having one gear for going forth and five reverse gears, the circle will be complete.

Unfortunatly, they will go with this jersey : (I hate tight jerseys like that)

He looks like a superhero in shorts.

The fact that he has monster legs but his arm is so thin. Normally most men train their upper body more then their leg but seeing it this way around looks strange.

I suppose you are not familiar with how football players usually look.

I experienced it with (not counting the local national team of course) Algeria, Senegal, Portugal and even Italy...I'm not sure that this Italian supporter left the town alive the last time

Slovenia qualifies for the World Cup again, that makes me happy, they are much more likable than Russia, and from what I heard they deserved it too.

Maybe it's not the worst thing for France to take a break once, it just can't go on like that. You have such an incredible choice of great players and you've been playing like shit for years, even 2006 when they got the finals France sucked. Besides: no team that loses 3:1 against Austria deserves to go the World Cup.
