Definitely not a POTD style "romp".

You beat me to it, I was going to make the point that these guys posessed on mars do seem rather repilian!

Looks good anyway-Still no news on when it's going to air though, unless I missed an anouncement!

November-ish is the only word. I know lots of people will say to put it on on Halloween, which is a Saturday this year but too many kids and their parents will be out then. I'd stick on the next week, the 7th of November.

Hmmm...and here I was disappointed that the Ice Warriors weren't going to appear...

Was a bit unmoved by the clip. Perhaps it was the lack of a Murray Gold score hiding the horrendously looped water trickle in the mix.

Still, looking forward to this. I just hope the rest of the specials aren't as unbelievably shit as Planet of the Dead.

PotD wasn't shit, it was just somewhat average. As a regular episode of the show it would have been good, as a stand alone "special" it was meh...

Planet of the Dead was one of few episodes that I could barely bring myself to watch as it aired, in much the same way episodes such 'Fear Her' and the first two seasons of Torchwood did. I don't consider it for repeated viewing at all. Infact, it disheartened me to Doctor Who in the same way that the later series of Voyager did to Star Trek. What on Earth was with the fly people? The snobby and unlikeable character played by Michelle Ryan. It was just plain terrible.

I REALLY hope that there is some improvement in Doctor Who over the remaining specials. I'm optimistic about the last three episodes though, and Waters of Mars is looking great so far. :)

Bring on the Moff, that's all I can say!

Whoa. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has really let himself go, hasn't he?
At least we now know where River Cottage gets its water from.
Yikes a-lordy!

I have to say that I agree. I haven't watched it since it aired, and I don't much care to for some considerable time...and I wasn't too thrilled with The Next Doctor either. So I hope the new one is a step up.

Whoa. At the moment, Torchwood is leading the way...*gulp*

I have to join the bandwagon. I couldn't stand "Planet of the Dead."

I wouldn't say I couldn't stand it... but I have no desire to ever see it again. TWOM looks considerably better.

But right now it all has to live up to Children of Earth.

"Planet of the Dead" was enjoyable and solid, I liked it more than the overhyped "The Stolen Earth/Journey's End" wankfest, although the lightweight RTD romp along the lines of "Aliens of London/World War Three" is starting to get numbing as a formula, although nowhere near as numbing as Voyager's earlier episodes (I don't buy into the Trek BBS myth of SS&6 being worse) such as "The Cloud", "Initiations", "Partuation", "Elogium", "Twisted", "Persistance of Vision", "Tattoo", "Threshold", "Innocence", "The Q and the Grey", "Coda", "Darkling", "Favourite Son", and "Real Life".

I agree that "The Water's of Mars" looks darker than "Planet of the Dead", although then again a killer swarm that eats whole planets is not exactly a barrel of laughs either.

i liked POTD and don't understand how anyone could call Lady Christina 'unlikeable'...

as for the clip, i'm intrigued.
