New Voyages-"World Enough"

^it's up on demonoid, i downloaded it in 30mins
I'll say this about the show, you'll never look at Star Trek:Generations quite the same way again

I let this download over night with Getright, which gave me speeds over 20kb/s (I downloaded the Large version). I've watched it now and all I can say is...

WOW! I can't believe it this episode was brilliant!! This coming from someone who didn't even really like the last episode and so I was completely surprised to find I absolutely loved it!

I don't know where to begin. The biggest annoyance I've had so far with the series is the acting. But somehow it seemed so much better. Up until now I haven't been able to accept the actors as replacements for Shatner and Co but this time I did find it believable. I actually managed to forget that they weren’t the original actors which is something I thought was impossible.

But it wasn't just the acting that took me by surprise the script was excellent too. On the last episode it seemed to me that it tried to be more than a TOS episode. With all that talking about the Federation economy and then Chekov getting old and thinking about his life. It didn't seem to work and the ending just left me thinking WTF rather than getting upset. However this episode seemed to me to try and be a regular episode and yet managed to be something special. It was a lot more focused and with a problem to solve and yet it managed to be more than that. It had me close to tears at the end this time (and I never cry so that's the best you'll get out of me).

The music was excellent as well as was the special effects. They certainly gave the Re-mastered episodes a run for their money.

I'm so happy at the moment. Normally I wouldn't compare this to the professional episodes but this time I can gladly say it not only compares with them it stands above many. If this was an episode part of a regular series I'd still be very impressed.

Ok I'm gushing but I can't help it. :)

I just finished watching it- I started the download before I racked out last night and it was all done this morning when I got up.

Basically, Sithlord nails it AFAIC. I know it's a labor of love and a fan production, but I feel kind of guilty watching such quality stuff for free. The FX looked better than much of the stuff seen on skiffy these days.

I will add one more comment:

That story was Pure Trek. A+

Wow. I've just finished watching it and I'm completely amazed. This felt like a very good episode of Star Trek that could easily stand up in comparison to the original. The effects and ship designs were perfect and most of the actors were very good this time, or at least better than in the previous episodes. But the best thing was clearly the story, which was very engaging and exciting with strong emotional moments.

I'm totally thrilled for the next one. :)

I just ran home real quick from work to begin downloading on my ThinkPad. Hopefully it'll be done by the time I'm home :D

What I've seen of the episode so far is fine - particularly the pacing and direction. It moves fast, and it's to the point. And right up front there's a segue from one setting to another that's just wonderful.

I'd agree... especially on the segue... just wonderful camerawork and direction all around so far.

The effects are still a bit off to me, but I am still a model-bigot.

NOTHING is as good as a model.

Yeah, what is going on? I go to startreknewvoyages.com and it brings me to some PHP website page? Where's the actual New Voyages page?

I've been streaming this sucker on the site for about 2 hours now and I've gotten less than 10 minutes done. The torrent isn't going much faster. :( I suppose I will get one of them downloaded eventually!

Hey guys!

Sorry for the website meltdown, were in the high 6 digits for hits from this morning alone.

Tha wee bearin servers canna take it anymore!

Best advice keep trying, and know that we are working on our end to make things smoother!

I was lucky enough to see a preview back in June. I don't want to be overly verbose, but it really is a beautifully-crafted story, featuring some truly touching performances and outstanding camera work. Suffice to say, I liked it. A lot. :)

I've gone the torrent route as well.

Saw it about half way through yesterday, share the above comments. All around best yet.

After just watching the most recent installment let me just say, BRAVO! This was the best New Voyages yet. The acting was excellent across the board and for the last 10 of 15 minutes I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. This is such an improvement down to the music scoring where in previous episode it was difficult to hear the dialog because the music was so overpowering but this episode nailed it.

I could write several paragraphs praising this episode but allow me to simply finish by saying thank you team of New Voyages for putting one hell of a show and making me feel like I was really watching Star Trek! BRAVO!!!

Wow they've done such and incredible job with the movie. I sobbed like a little girl...

George's acting was incredible-it shows us what the 4th season could have been like if only they let them stretch their acting muscles.

I agree this is a good episode. Finally got it all after 4 hours. The Quicktime file for medium is about 204 megs.

Takei performance is good. the actress playing Alana is excellent. Good dialog too. It was touching.

Not happy about the gay storyline for the next ep however. The action looks ok, but...

That was the whole point of conflict when David wrote it for TNG-Gene always intended for the future to have folks of all sexual orientations portrayed but he never actually let them produce the story.

I think it's great that David reworked it so that Peter ends up being gay-can you imagine the kind of inner conflict he's going to have to go through just to tell his uncle?

I can't wait to see it and it'll be great to see Denise again.

Is there actually a stream somewhere ?

I see that Part 1 is up on youtube, but youtube is not acceptable to me. I watch hoaxes over there but not a quality product like NV.

yes the links are above, you can go to www.magictimeonline.com to it in a player but it is slow!

There are other high quilty (and much faster) sources (beside torrents) but i can't give them away or I will get the shit kicked out of me LOL
