New Voyages/Phase II

"Origins?"

According to the Phase II boards, "Origins" is no longer the title of the Cadet Kirk and George Kirk story, but will be entitled "The Protracted Man."

The PII episode is based on that David Gerrold story, of the same title, that wasn't filmed for the original series.

Okaaaay...

...but having read the above synopsis, I'm having a hard time seeing how these two stories mesh... A & B plotlines, one (plot B, obviously) as a flashback? Seems messy and convoluted...with all respect, of course. It'll be interesting to see how it's done...gonna be tricky, that's for sure!

From the Orion Press link...

The Crewman Jones character would have had to be someone closer to Kirk than just an ordinary grunt on the ship, perhaps someone with a common past.

Without revealing too much and spoiling the fun for everyone, this isn't really two stories--it's just one. Pretty much the whole episode is a flashback. The "Protracted Man" elements of the story take place back when James Kirk was a cadet at the Academy.

I would just like to see more episodes. With the next movie delayed for another year, this classic Trek is the best. And yes I do donate to the production cost. I would donate labor, but I'm on the left coast.

Just keep in mind, that although this episode is delayed there are 3 or 4 more still in post production so there are more on the way.

well that good news I love this series and I am all caught up. recomendations for new show would help?
