New Voyages/Phase II

This is an unrelated New Voyages request but I can't find an answer on google so far.

For some weeks I've not been able to access the New Voyages website, specifically the forum. It's a long time for the site to be down, if it is, yet I have tried many different browsers and now have a new OS and yet the page still won't open.

I can't ask anyone at NV about the problem because I don't have anyone's email address to reach them.

I am in Australia and have checked with a friend who uses a different ISP from me and has the same problem.

I haven't read on google of other people having this problem, so will someone please check http://startreknewvoyages.com and say if it opened for them, especially the forum? That way at least it can be confirmed that the site is still online. Thanks.

The person who maintains the site is on set at the latest shoot. Since there's no reliable internet access there, he wont be able to sort things out until the shoot is over.

I was very impressed with the production quality of this fan-based project. The acting is ok, the special effects rival many big budget films, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to the story/stories and the relationships between the characters. Like any type of show, you will have good, great and not-so great episodes. It's nice to see that some ST alum have joined the project from time to time. I treat Phase II/New Voyages like an extention of what could have happened during the 5 year voyage of Kirk and Company. IMO, I would have to say it's the best fan produced project that I have seen out there, so far.

Thank you for your replies. It's good to know the problem isn't just my computer; the only puzzle is why I've not been able to access the site for a couple of months. I'll see what happens when Robert comes back and fixes the site.

Phase 2 is very rewarding to watch. I have enjoyed this group of fans productions for several years. I search the web for videos of the cast and crew at conventions to see what they say about the "Making of" efforts. I have gone to youtube to find TV commercials from 1969 to add to the episodes to give it the feeling of the Fourth Season of TOS.

I pass around the DVD's I make to several friends and they always want to see the latest episode.

I did see an interview with James who threw out an idea that made too much sence. He said, "It's too bad that Paramount does not let fans make episodes, like writers write ST books then both parties can make money from that." Think of all the paperback books that have been made on ST.

Yes, our website and the forum went down about two weeks ago. (It's been running fine before then.) The bulk of the production team is in Upstate New York shooting our episode "Mind-Sifter." This includes our main (well, pretty much our only) IT guy who has neither Internet access not the IT tools to fix our website remotely.

The shoot is going well and is wrapping up soon. We have some wonderful footage. Not only will we get the website up and running in a couple of days, but I'm sure we'll be posting a smattering of Behind the Scenes pictures.

Thanks for your patience, everyone.

I sort of enjoyed it. I liked some parts but couldn't help myself to finish it...It just got boring to me after a while.

I just got done watching Enemy: Starfleet and I say it was enjoyable. Though I do believe no one on the Enterprise can hit the blind side of a barn, except for that one lucky shot.

I am really looking forward to Kitumba. I have wanted to see that filmed ever since I read J&GRS Phase II book.

Looking forward to all of them...and hoping there's a place for me to help on Mindsifter....Do you need a big hulking dude with LOTS of acting experience to play an orderly?...happy to put James in restraints if needed...
