My guess, that's how much the first issue cost.
I signed up online 1st Jan. I got an email initially telling me I'd get a letter or another email confirming my sub details within a few days. The direct debit instruction popped up very quickly on my online account, but after two weeks I still hadn't heard a peep, so I gave them a ring. They said I was on their system and they'd organise for a confirmation letter to be sent out. I got the books within a few days of that. So, I can only assume in me making that call, that might of been what made the difference with me?
Yeah it was but the first payment should have been £21.98 to cover the first three. I e-mailed them and they said what had happened as I was confused, so they said they'd take the remaining payment by the end of the week. That was 2 or 3 weeks ago now.
I e-mailed again to see what was going on when still no payment went out, but then finally yesterday it went out. My second payment is due on the 6th Feb too.
Yeah maybe I should ring later when it's not 4 in the morning.
I'll ring later if a dispatch day isn't in my order number later when I'm home from work.

I have heard tales over the years that Eaglemoss's customer service does leave something to be desired.
A shame really as the products themselves are normally pretty good.
You signed up a Sunday, the first day of a new year and the day before a bank holiday and you believed an automatically generated email?
I've never had an issue with there customer service, but from what others have said, it's more to do with extremely high (and to be blunt, unfairly so) expectations of what their customer service should be.
There's no reason why every step of the logistics wouldn't be similarly automated in this day and age, though. Two weeks is a little much.
Not even Amazon is, so why should Eaglemoss?
I see a potential problem with these books. So for now they're just doing IDW releases, and like most modern comics they do fit into Graphic Novel format very easily, with most been either 4 or 5 part self contained stories, easy to put into book form.
But even then, as has already happened, they're in pretty random order. First there's Countdown, then City on the Edge of Forever, then Hive, Spock Reflections, TNG The Space Between, and Nero.
So the first six go- TNG-NuTrek/TOS/TNG/TOS/TNG/NuTrek
That's really not much of an order.
But you'll have to put them in that order for the spine pictures to work out.
And worse what about when it comes to the old stuff? Isn't a lot of the DC and Marvel stuff just singular issues? You can put 5 of them together in a book but it's not an ongoing story. So say "Early Voyages", that ran 17 issues. Are they gonna just split that over 4 books, labelled vol.1-4 I assume. But then for variety they're probably not gonna release them all one after the other. So in your full spine wall thing, you'd have like Vol.1 somewhere, then maybe back to an IDW, something else, then Vol.2, then more random releases Vol.3, etc etc
And that's all alongside random books with DC, other Marvel, Malibu and other publishers, and random incarnations of Trek one after the other.
I'm just interested how they're gonna do this. By the end won't your collection just gonna be a complete confusing mess?
So either you leave it as they've done it and is a mess, or you arrange it properly yourself and all the miss matched spines make it look a mess

I finally have a happy ending. Whilst issue one is still not in stock, issues two-five have been dispatched together. They have also assured me that they will send issue one as soon as it's back in stock, so I'll have it by the end of the month.
Thanks, ti's exciting to see our first non-IDW issue. And I've done a spreadsheet, issue 80 would be April 2020, feels like ages away! But it isn't...
Early Voyages, neat! But I already have that in single issues and IDW's Star Trek Omnibus, so still no collections I'm interested in buying.
It's not really the first. Each issue released so far has included a bonus Gold Key story.
Or, to look at it another way, both Gold Key and Early Voyages have been previously reprinted by IDW, so we still haven't seen any non-IDW issues.
Well so far on my late catch-up I've read the Ellison draft of City on the Edge, which was really interesting. A different take on a story I was familiar with anyway, but it was fascinating. The artwork was well done as well.
I'm halfway through the Hive series now and I'm enjoying this look at the Borg we're getting. I look forward to picking it up before bed again.
Definitely glad with the purchase so far despite the dodgy delivery I had.

Remember the Starships Collection was only supposed to run for 70 issues originally, and look how that has turned out!
If the sales numbers hold up and they can source enough material, I wouldn't put it past Eaglemoss to double the run they are projecting at the moment. I'm keeping an empty space for a second book case, just to be on the safe side, lol.
I know it's early days, but disappointed there's still no not-yet-collected stuff announced.
They should almost rename it The IDW Collection. "Collected for those who have never heard of Amazon!"
I did see a post somewhere that if they really want to produce every Trek comic it would need to be about 4 times bigger than the planned 80 volumes.
I found the IDW TNG Omnibus in my local library last week actually, glad I got that before I bought any more. The story and plot for upcoming vol.6 The Space Between is a right mess, so I'm happy I didn't waste £10 on it. Don't think I'll be continuing with any more of these myself tbh.
Also a lot of the stories are only 4 issues, plus the Gold Key (which I'm not really bothered about anyway) to bump it up slightly. The same time this collection started Hachette started it's Transformers G1 collection, and in those (same thing, fortnightly hardbacks, £9.99) you get far more for your money. A recent one had 9 issues worth. Plus a little bit of behind the scenes articles too.
