New (UK) Eaglemoss Star Trek Graphic Novels Collection

E="Ethros, post: 11935083, member: 981"] The story and plot for upcoming vol.6 The Space Between is a right mess, so I'm happy I didn't waste £10 on it. Don't think I'll be continuing with any more of these myself tbh.

You're certainly right there. I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

I think the crux of what it was trying to say was "Section 31 did it."
But yeah it's terribly plotted, especially the last issue. I had to look up online that it was meant to be Necheyav who saved Picard.

Issues 10-12 have now been revealed.

10: The Classic UK Comics Part 1
11: Intelligence Gathering
12: The Edge Of The Galaxy (IDW Ongoing Volume 1)

Still boldly going where IDW has gone before.

Those new volumes are so disappointing. Where's the rarer, never-collected stuff? I was hoping to see some of the 1980s/1990s DC or Marvel 90s material that has never made it to graphic novel/TPB by now... this is starting to feel like a missed opportunity.

I really think it's a matter of what Eaglemoss has access to that exists in high-quality digital scans. In other words, it would be stuff that either IDW published themselves originally or cleaned up for various archive publications. I wouldn't expect to see Eaglemoss publish anything in this collection that IDW hasn't already published or reprinted first.

I actually gave away most of my collection knowing that Eaglemoss would be reissuing practically the whole lot, so I'm glad to be getting things back.

Would it be worth sending them a cheeky email regarding non-IDW stuff such as the DC graphic novels and 90s Marvel mini series? DC have done collections, plus a fair bit of that material was reprinted by Titan (who publish the magazine still) in TPB format. I'd love to have things like all 6 parts of Telepathy War together, Untold Voyages, DC'S Time Crime etc

On anoither note, I turned down an extra reprint in this collection, The Spectrum War. I thought intercompany crossovers would be omitted so I bought the TPB last month! The irony there is the StarTrekGreen Lantern arc is my favourite comic crossover ever, knowing both properties well helps lol, but this really merges the two universes beautifully and seamlessly.

Picked up issue #10 from WH Smith... really disappointed at the amount of gutter loss for so many of the strips.

I know that because of the way they are presented these double-paged UK strips would always be a challenge, and I could live with some of the art being lost, but so many speech balloons are also unreadable, making enjoying the stories that much harder.

By the end of the volume the reprints move to the more 'standard' presentation, so assume this won't be present in any more volumes. Still, disappointing.

I just became a subscriber. I'm very happy to have all the comics in this nice way on my book shelf. I never collected any of the IDW stuff. I love the look of volume one countdown. Presentation of the book is great. Especially being a nice hardcover.

Memory Alpha has info now on the next batch of upcoming releases:

#14: Vulcan's Vengeance (#issues #7-12 of the IDW ongoing)
#15: Newspaper Strips Vol 1
#16: TNG Ghosts
#17: Mirrored (#issues #13-18 of the IDW Ongoing)
#18: Early Voyages vol 2 (issues #5-8)

Once again, nothing new or rare, though it's a pleasant surprise that they seem to be bundling the IDW ongoing into six-issue collections (rather than the TPBs, which for the majority were four-issue collections).

Out of interest, did the recent UK Classic Comics Vol 1 (issue #10) exactly correspond in contents to the IDW UK Comics Vol 1 hardback? Or is it only a portion of that tome (so instead of three volumes, Eaglemoss will release, say, 4-5 of UK comics?) Just curious.

Just picked up #4, Spock:Reflections. Is it just bad luck that I've got a copy that misses out the second page of the introduction, or is that a general problem?

Given how long it's been since anyone commented, I may well be the only person still interested in this, but...!

I picked up issue #21 and we are finally moving to never-before-collected stuff! #21 is the Marvel Star Trek: Voyager series, issues #1-8. Plus another Gold Key issue, so a nine-issue collection. Pretty decent stuff.

Next issue is also never-before-collected, the "Divided We Fall" mini-series from Wildstorm.

and according to wikipedia, volume 25 will be the first 5 issues of the Marvel DS9 series. I will really start cheering when Eaglemoss starts re-printing some of the DC stuff. What i wouldn't give to have the Mirror Universe Saga in a nice hardcover collection.
