New trailer.

Looks to be the best New Who series yet. We're 6 episodes in and there have been no outright bad episodes (For comparison, at this point in Series 2 and Series 4 we'd had several RTD stinkers!).

No real absolute classics in Series 7a admittedly but I think this series will up its game pretty soon.

Oh, I don't know. Angels take Manhattan is not that memorable for the villain, but the emotional impact takes it to classic levels I think.

Asylum of the Daleks and Angels Take Manhatten are terrific episodes but not out and out classics like The Girl Who Waited or Amy's Choice.

I don't know if it's just the trailer but there seems to be a little more edge in there, maybe with the new coat and what they're saying with the console and stuff maybe it's just a little more grounded. I don't think Who should be all dark and dour but it shouldn't be twee either so that might not be a bad thing.

Almost looks like the Doctor might have to face a Time Bandit. ;)

Okay I'm excited. :)

While I saw pictures of the new Cybermen, they seem to look far better in this trailer then I thought they would. Same goes for the Ice Warriors, who actually look rather menacing in that clip (the lighting helps).

Also the TARDIS console room in the second clip looks awesome (again, the lighting helps).

Call me cynical though, but I get the feeling the reason there's no hi-res version is that it'd show the flaws.

Umm... who is the old guy behind Clara at the 17 second mark in the US trailer StCoop linked to? I ask, cause it sure looks a lot like the first Doctor to me.

Looks like David Warner to me. He's in the Ice Warriors episode.

Could be. Though it still looks a heck of a lot like David Bradley to me. Wish I could find a decent screencap to get a better look.

It's David Warner, who's been known has been in that episode for months. There was some speculation that he'd be playing an Ice Lord which never made sense to me, since you don't hire someone of his stature and cover up everything but his chin.

Yeah, I know Warner is in the Ice Warriors episode. I don't dispute that.

Thing is, the brief glance we get of the older gentleman at the 17 second mark of that trailer doesn't really look that much like David Warner to my eye, and far more resembles images I've seen of David Bradley's Hartnell. Moreover, the brief clip might not even be from "that episode" but from one that has nothing to do with the Ice Warriors. It is, after all, a montage of several upcoming eps. Which is kinda why I said I wanted a decent screencap in the first place; to get a better look.

I bet you a packet of jelly babies it's David Warner. And I don't make bets like that lightly.

It left me delighted at finally being rid of the worst companion since Adric. So that was a mark in its favour.
Catherine Tate left ages ago...

I miss Karen Gillan.

Amy Pond was great (And Donna a howling mess!) but I'm too excited for Clara to miss her. I just hope Amy doesn't return and ruin her legacy like Rose, Martha and Donna did. Keep her amazing exit and don't over-egg the pudding.
