New Trailer reveals new old character and confirms setting

I get the feeling they are going cheap again from this. First couple of eps in the will show how things change then the bulk of the season is spent in current day Earth. Then back for a wrap up. Going light on effects because they don't have as big a budget? Return of the cut and paste fleet? Just a feeling and I want to be wrong.

I hope not. If anything, Covid flming restrictions might impact some of their creative decisions. Hopefully not as much as the current Doctor Who series (I think they have stricter regulations), but they do have an octogenarian to protect...

^^ Which makes more sense for said Octogenarian to have a few extra scenes from his comfy captain's chair saying engage and evasive maneuvers. We shall see.

Why would they go cheap? They are front loaded with two seasons to produce, so going cheaper makes less sense since they know they are filming more, vs. Season 1 which was not a guarantee of not being a one off.

I said It's just a feeling. I don't have a ton of trust in their decisions. The cut and paste fleet gives me pause.

I'll be hoping for the best. Even if I'm right I'll still keep watching it. I was able to walk away from other shows that I became disappointed by but I can't quit Star Trek. I'll just yell at the screen.
