Watched "Elaan of Troyius" this morning; when Elaan flings her daggar at Kirk, you can plainly see the fishing line attached to it. This scene was obviously filmed with the daggar being yanked out of the wall, then the film was reversed in editing.

Hmmm...I wonder why the digital team didn't remove the wires (like they did in "Catspaw")...

Actually the wire is stuck in the wall and also behind the camera. Then the knife is slid along the wire toward Kirk.

You can see the wire both before and after the blade is flung.

There are a lot of wires/strings not removed--probably because of time.

The string on Mitchel's cup, the string in Kirk's paser rifle, the string holding up Nomad in certain scenes etc.
