New To Voyager

You're incorrigible! LOL but it's one of my favorite things about you. I read your posts and often shake my head but because I can't believe what I am reading; not the judgmental way.

Honestly, I haven't given Da Vinci much thought since I was a teen. I was allured by his genius methods amongst a wave of human ignorance. I have only recently brought him back to the present after watching Concerning Flight when I had a revelation listening to the lament of a da Vinci hologram.

It feels like they were playing with half a deck for not using the real Maestro Da Vinci who matched wits with Kirk in the 1960s.

:(

It's a pretty good show - entertaining! Reminds me a bit of Assassin's Creed 2, taking place in Florence, a young Da Vinci was portrayed similarly there.

I had a brain fart the other day.

Researching Nausicaans for a story I'm thinking about thinking about writing, I saw that there were Nausicaans in Q2, so I briefly thought that that was the species which Q was masquerading as when he pretended to have territory in the DQ which amazed me how Janeway could see a Nausicaan and be fine with that species possessing real estate 30,000 light years from the AQ...

It all came to nothing because the nausicaans were part of a holodeck simulation earlier in the program.

But my two first thoughts upon misunderstanding what I was reading was...

1. Yes, that is exactly the size of the Nausicaan Empire.

2. Janeway suppressed her laughter, realizing something Hinky was going on, decided to play along to help teach the boys some valuable life lessons.

The Naussicans are worse than the Klingons as far as being a species where you wonder how they manage to run a civilization with space ships. Or maybe they are only like that with non-Naussicans (unlike Klingons).

The story requires a species that was a bit of a lost cause backward fuck up.

One thing I did notice is how unrecognisably humanified the Naausicans were on DS9 and Voyager. (No face claws. 2 feet shorter.)

Maybe the make up department got lazy, or maybe there had been a lot of interbreeding with man as he assumed control of space typically what had been seen up till then as Nausicaan?

1. Humans are adventurous with odd standards of fuckability?

2. Human slaves kept in kennels?

3. They smell nicer than they look or sound?

4. They were effected by the Klingon augment plague too?

I'm sure on Enterprise, set in he distant past, that they were back to full predator faces.

When "New to Voyager" starts seeming more like "Old to Voyager" doesn't that also mean mean "getting ready for Enterprise"?

It's been a long road.

I liked Q2. Don't you "Aunt Kathy", me  Homestead was sad.

I forgot that Endgame was a two-in-one episode like Caretaker, so I thought I had more to watch but no. Only two more and I will be finished. I hate finales. Even if they are good it's still sad.

Q2 was kind of a drag. But Q helped the crew in the end and solved my question, "What's happening with the Q baby?"

Homestead was sad. I was surprised he was written to stay behind and I knew the show was rapping up.

I guess it makes sense. Neelix was introduced once the crew got tossed into the DQ, seems fitting he would stay there but it's sad to think they never see him again, aside from the two-way communication.

Actually that seems impossible.

Without a network of subspace radio boosters to amplify and pass on the signal.

:)

Was Voyager dropping a communication Network behind as it made it's way through the Delta Quadrant?

Several weeks later, Starfleet attempted to use the network to contact Voyager directly. However, the same problems with communications caused a large portion of the data transfer, containing messages and letters from the crew's families, to become lodged in a relay station near to Voyager's position. While attempting to retrieve the data, Voyager came under attack from a Hirogen hunting party, and was forced to use an antithoron burst against the relay station, causing the quantum singularity within to be exposed, destroying the Hirogen vessel, along with the remaining messages. The energy released in the process spread to every relay in the network, disabling them, and rendering the network inert. (VOY: "Hunters")
Janeway broke the 10,000 year old network, because she thought that she was more important than the billions of people using it across quarter of the the galaxy, and the tens of trillions that would still go on to use it over the next ten thousand years.

Imagine you rang a friends cellphone, and they held their cellphone up to another cellphone that had a second friend on it, so that you could talk to them because you couldn't call them directly?

That.

As more resources were added to the Voyager problem, it seems that a new method of communication was possible that Voyager was now able to stay in contact with Neelix who was only merely dozens to hundreds of light years away as time went by, that might have even involved using the Midas Array better.

1 year = 1000 light years.

Voyager in Endgame was probably only 39 (1000 divided by 26) light years away from Neelix, that if they had dropped a couple subspace radio boosters (Archer dropped a shitload of them on Enterprise, but they only mentioned it once in the episode where bastards were shooting them down because Earth isn't special enough to have infrastructure.) it would have been cake. Remember how few minutes it took Voyager to get out of range of the Captains combadge/subspaceradio in Resolutions when it was deemed inhe interest of the greater good that Janeway and Chakotay needed to be marooned?

"Minutes" = Significantly less than 1 light year.
