New To Voyager

I felt ill reading the relaunch when Janeway, Mark and his new wife go to the beach together.

No, they became good friends.

And smiled.

And laughed.

If the author had had some advance screenings of Enterprise with their decon Gel shenanigans, she(?) wouldn't have stopped short of the Johnsons (Mr Johnson, Mrs Johnson and almost Mrs Johnson) rubbing sun tan lotion into each other deep.

(You would think that the ozone layer would have been fixed and improved upon. In the Khan novels, they used a weapon that opened huge holes in the Ozone Layer to melt cities... You would also assume that people didn't care about tanning any more? Especially if Dermal regeneration reversed bronzing, that would have to go to some effort to avoid being "healed" by random blasts of health, if not worry about streaking if they actually do have to have something fixed.)

:(

Harry and Libby were just as bad.

Mark: Hey, uh, Kathy, and wow, what a surprise. You know, a funny thing happened the day after we got the news that Voyager was lost and I was cele-- uh, drowning my sorrows at the bar. I met this woman, she's about 5'4", trim, with red hair, and she loves dogs, so we're getting married! Isn't that great? Well, hope you guys don't have anymore trouble getting home. See you in 50 years.

 Though if memory serves, Mark called her Kath, not Kathy. I think the only person to call her that was Q. It's heartbreaking but after 4 years, you can't blame him. The logical explanation (channeling Tuvok here) is that she had died.

In reference to Janeway's hair, in the earlier seasons it was brown. Then in "Year Of Hell" it's red. Did she decide to dye it as well as cut it?

What if his letter had read: "My god. You're alive. I love you so much. Marry me now. Now, now, please now."

Would Janeway have changed her name to Johnson in mid year four?

I suppose since there was no continuity what so ####ing ever, it wouldnt have changed much.

Shit.

Nothing even had to be remonogrammed.

I doubt she would have changed her name. People who are in certain lines of work usually don't (doctors, Army, etc.) I really feel for her. That's the second fiancee she has lost.

B'Elanna Paris?

Kes Paris? (in Before and After.)

The EMH married a girl... She called him Kenneth.

It's also possible that he married the girl he lived with on the Blink of an Eye planet.

Naomi almost certainly took her mothers name, because we're not even sure if Greskrendregtk has a surname.

I haven't got that far so I didn't know about the name change. I know she and Tom get married and have a daughter. Kes was a member of the crew but she didn't have a rank because she wasn't Starfleet, she doesn't count.

B'Elanna kept her own name. And of course Naomi has her mother's last name. After all, Seven always calls her 'Naomi Wildman' instead of just 'Naomi.'

Meanwhile lets just recognize that Torres is a human and Hispanic name derived from her human father and it's not a magical coincidence that another alien race would give her a surname that matches her personality.

Deanna took her father Ian's name and her mother was a xenophile who probably had to suffer though many ridiculous customs as she kept remarrying men from strange new world after strange new world.

She probably insisted on Bajoran weddings each time though, just to amuse herself with everyone's discomfort of nudity.

Seska turned out to be some kind of genius. She almost managed to get posthumous revenge on Tuvok... and Paris (as a bonus). She almost got back in the game even after that (shattered).

We all have babybrain sometimes, just let every other blip go, or you won't have room in the day left for an original thought.

I'm sure Bajoran weddings are utterly tedious full of poems and litanies and vows. Which you have to sit through to get to the spring wine.

We saw Sisko marry a couple people and he was forced to have a state wedding on Bajor until he and Kasiday eloped?

Oh, Admiral Ross officiated!
