New To Voyager

Before I decided to buy the DVDs, I went on StarTrek.com with the promise of full episodes. I couldn't access the videos due to region factors. It's really annoying! They should change that kind of stuff so everybody can enjoy video access.

Regrettably I watched the season finale. This was my response when it ended: NOW? YOU'RE CHOOSING "To be continued" NOW?! WHAT. THE. HELL. How am I going to survive until S4 arrives? :wtf:

I totally agree. I live in Europe and there are a lot of good movies I would like to watch. But I can't buy the DVD's because of that region crap, the Region 1 DVD's don't work on our DVD players over here.

Fortunately all Star Trek related DVD's are released for Region 2 too.

When DVD players started becoming affordable, ordinary people started buying them even though they were Zone restricted.

So you have millions and millions of people across the planet with perfectly good DVD players in working order who can't fathom a reason to replace them with something only a tiny bit better, until they get broke.

You can wait 16 weeks like we had to in 1998.

:)

Nah, some one in the states snail mailed a friend the episodes on VHS and 30 of us huddled around a TV and took it all in.

Do you know how to illegally download?

It's your ticket to your own Orange is the New Black Experience after Johnny Law nabs you.

That must have been hell! No I don't download illegally, it doesn't feel right. I'm boring and play by the rules.

Hmm. Well I haven't come across one that had zones and mine have been from thrift stores for five bucks.

Zones is a 10 years ago, 15 years ago problem.

The first dvd players made in the 90s were a $1000 (ish depending on currency and region.) and were expected to last 30 to 50 years to justify the expense.

You were there.

Remember how crazy you thought those asshoels were to spend 800 bucks on a DVD player when they still had a perfectly good and orderly working video player?

DVD players are not going to be replaced by Blu-ray Players.

It's going to be legal streaming/downloading that becomes the next official standard.

Do you know what an Orange is the New Black Experience is?

It's the name of a "new" tv show co-starring Kate Mulgrew about life in a Woman's Prison. "Orange" is in reference to the prison uniform, while "X" is the new black is that the fartsy people at fashion week say about their exciting colour choices for their new line of clothing.

I made a balanced statement that indicated that if you downloaded Voyager illegally, you would immediately go to jail, probably get shanked and then stuffed into an industrial sized drier.

You haven't seen Orange is the New Black?

You're really missing something quite special.

Of course I've seen OITNB! I love it! It was my introduction to Kate Mulgrew and what led me to Voyager. I thought you were talking about something in relation to the show, like a special behind-the-scenes feature or something.

It's Janeway on crack.
Crack Janeway.
Janeway mainlined.
Janeway Command Hologram.
Orange is the New Red.
Command Red Janeway.
I have more Janeway and I must scream.

When Janeway and Janeway go to White Castle.
Red: the new campaign for Faces of Janeway
Litchfield can be a dangerous place but its our last best hope for an Emmy.
Are you there Janeway it's me, teacake.

Oh! So that's how you make friends and influence people!?

My process up til now, has not been anything like that.

Q called him that once.

Q: It was awfully drab, wasn't it? But this, this is a much more colourful representation for a human of American descent, don't you think? An elegant manor house, a beautiful Southern belle, a dashing Union officer determined to win her affections despite her hatred for Yankee interlopers.
JANEWAY: Enough. The only thing that interests me right now is the welfare of my ship and crew.
Q: Well, I'm sure your first officer, Chuckles, is it? I'm sure he's got everything under control for the moment.
JANEWAY: I'd like to make sure of that myself, if you don't mind.
Q: This has gone way beyond your ship. It's even gone beyond you and me. This is about the future of the Continuum itself.
