Well, I purposely didn't say, since I assume the OP is not looking for spoilers (like that one).
Damn, I didn't even think of that. I added a 'spoiler' to my comment and thankfully I checked and it appears Ben Jones, the original poster, hasn't been here since yesterday so thankfully nothing was ruined for him if he hasn't checked back since then.
Thanks for pointing that out so I could fix it though.
But without giving anything else away, was that what ruined Season 7 for you?
Well, as Ricky Spanish pointed out, we all look for different things. TMP is actually what made me a Trekkie. I had seen TWOK and TSFS previously, but it was TMP that brought me in the fold. I had to watch it on VHS originally. I then saw TWOK and TSFS in a new light, went to see TVH at the theater and loved it. Then I went back and watched the original series (which by that time were coming out on VHS also).
I finally got to see TMP in the theater about a year or so ago (this pandemic has completely warped my sense of time since 2020 has felt like it lasted 16 years at this point). Amazingly enough, that was actually the first time I saw the original theatrical version. I had only seen the 'special longer version' on VHS and the Directors Edition on DVD before (I'm still waiting for the DE on Blu-Ray--that was my favorite of the 'three' version of TMP).
Anyway, I digress. But like many fans I also love TWOK (it's my number 2 in fact).
Another thing that usually separates me from other fans is Beyond was my favorite Abrams film. So TMP was my favorite film, I liked Nemesis, and add Beyond being my favorite Abrams film to my 'odd' sense of taste.
But hey, "These are the Voyages..." is my least favorite Trek episode of all time--so I'm not
too far gone.
