Sure, nothing fancy but they're even using the original font.

It's just kind of...there. There's really nothing that grabs my attention. Even as a Trek fan, it gives off a "so what" feeling.

There is also Blue and Red stars in the starfield which might be a nod to TOS

Like the use of the original font and it is simple enough. Far better than any ST movie teaser poster in the last 15 years or so. I'm not exactly wetting myself over it but it is pleasant enough.

I like it, the retro Trek font and all. I'm sure before the movie comes out we'll get one of those epic Kirk/Spock looking off into space kinda of things.

Its a tease after all.

I guess if they need something to stick in theaters for 'regular folk' it's passable. But to announce that at ComicCon where there are people who care a bit more about it than regular folk, it's boring. The day isn't over yet, so perhaps there is other big news that makes this not mean so much.

I get the feeling JJ Abrams is the kind of guy who doesn't like to overplay his hand and enjoys leaving the audience wanting more.

From all that's been said on this board and at Trekmovie.com there is indeed more to come the poster isn't the "big news" just a bit of a treat.

Lets also keep in mind this isn't (as far as I can gather) the final movie poster here, its another teaser which makes two teaser posters so far.

I guess I just don't get why people can't understand the concept of "teaser".

It's a tease. That's all. As already said, the Kirk and Spock looking into the distance with the Enterprise wooshing by will probably come in the next 6-8 months. Wait. We've still got a year and a half to go. It's meant to get your attention and if you're walking by in your local theater and see this as you walk by, you're definatley going to know a Star Trek film called... well, Star Trek is coming. Create awareness now, create (hopefully) excitement later.

Jesus, it's like these people bitching about The Dark Knight teaser. "Waaah Batman and Joker aren't engaged in a struggle to the death with explosions and blahblahblah". It's a tease. Be patient.

Get off your high horse, man. As I said, it does nothing to grab my attention. As a teaser, it's supposed to wet my appetite and GRAB MY ATTENTION. In that respect, it's a failure and that's why I said I hated it.
