This Is Us I didn't make it through one episode. Tries to be hiply genuine, ends up just being ingenuine emotional cliches in a style meant to imply realism.

Haven't watched many of the new shows yet but a few in terms of premise are just plain depressing. Bull, for example, just watching the ads seems like a satirical expose on the legal system except the protagonist is a guy really good at exploiting the injustices.

Like, this show's goal is to tell me that if I'm ever falsely accused of a crime, my only hope of not going to prison is finding a guy who's really good at using applied psychology to manipulate the jury. But it doesn't pose this as a bad thing.

Bull is a half assed legal remake of House.

Spoiler: Still trying to digest

The beardo who used to be in Heroes/Gilmore Girls, helping his wife squeese out a baby... Is in the 1970s. The 70s era characters are all in scrubs or pyjamas, so it doesn't become clear until right at end that the baby being born is one of the adults in the other segments set during modern day. I'm not sure if there are other timezones being used to tell stories too. I guess I'll find out next week.
