I don't see this as a Star Trek fan production. The references are not clear enough. If it's a fan film, it reminds me of how Wonder Woman changes with her magic lasso from civilian clothes to her Amazon gear. The Christmas short used Star Trek music, but I still just don't see this as a fan film. I guess from a copyright infringement point of view, it's LIKE a fan film. I do think it's an original effort.

Ray guns go back to Buck Rogers, and up to the current news problems with laser guns being pointed at landing airplanes and blinding pilots. As laser weapons keep getting more powerful, they are becoming more of a real threat. Again, doesn't make it Trek.

It's a fun film... just not a fan film.

Well, we have a number of independent productions in this forum that aren't "fan films" per se. There's a topic in Questions, Suggestions & Feedback right now discussing this.

I have no problem with it being here. I do make that evaluation to determine what gets space on my website. Since one of their films is over 10 minutes, if I classified it as a Star Trek fan film, it would be a "Major" one, treated exactly the same way I treat, say, Phase II or Exeter.... or in the comedy area, the same way I treat Stone Trek or Star Tracks. I think somebody looking for a fun film will enjoy this. But if they wanted Trek... this is probably not what they have in mind.

Lately, Paramount has fewer ray guns (or phasers) than the Newark, New Jersey Airport, which keeps having problems with people blinding pilots trying to land commercial airliners with lasers. Ray guns are becoming a real problem.

Although the Fan Productions forum isn't very appropriate forum for non-Trek, lower-budgeted productions, it's the most appropriate forum in the bunch.
