New rare photos book....

The big draw of a book like this is to see rare images from TOS. I'm interested.

I've been websurfing and have found some rare or photos I've never seen from TOS I'd like to see what photos this book has (I'm sure they'll be circulating online as well)

Over the years a lot of rare pics have shown up online. The attraction for me would be to seen pics I'm not overly familiar with and see them reprinted large and clearly.

So rare to Joe Public and rare to fanatics like us are not the same thing.

I'll wait to hear some reviews here before deciding. Every time someone advertises "rare" or "previously unseen" pictures from Star Trek, I find that most (if not all) are pictures I've seen before.

Joe Public will never even know this book exists.

If you read Gurian's website, you'll see that some black and white photos have been (rather poorly) colorized. It's enough to make you queasy.

Dammit, were it not for its pedigree I'd have ordered this already. I don't doubt Gurian's collector cred (and I'm aware of the controversy over his photos used in TATV), but the association with Cushman / Markman / Brown is a non-starter for me.

I happen to know the SF writer Robert Sawyer ordered a copy. I'll wait to see what he has to say about it.
