New Radiohead Release - The King of Limbs

I was so happy when I saw this news on facebook (and then twitter). There is no track listing, but the message from the band was "Thanks for waiting" and a link to the site where downloads can be purchased. Downloads can be done this Saturday. For me, it will most likely be a few days later.

But I can't wait to hear it. Awesome day for music.:techman:

Love the way this band have been able to dispense with promotion and distribution. I bet they make loads more money than with a traditional record contract.

I don't see this model really working for up and coming bands, at the end of the day good promotion costs money, but for established acts with a hardcore fanbase like Radiohead it's perfect.

Look forward to hearing the album.

Not using the "pay what you want" system, I see! Still, six quid for the mp3s is damn good value - and the "newspaper" release looks interesting.

I'd buy the newspaper version if I thought I'd ever listen to the vinyls. I know full well I'll never even attempt to, so why waste the extra £24? Would balance out the £1.46 I gave for IR though, I suppose...

Can't wait for Saturday!

There is apparently going to be a standard physical CD release to stores on the 28th March in the UK. I'm going to wait for that.

Heard bits and pieces on the radio but I can't say it has exactly grabbed me.

That is my plan also. It's released here on the 25th. Heard two songs so far, well only the first single. Gonna enjoy the full album tonight.

I love Radiohead.

I found this release terribly disappointing and boring. It's at the bottom of their albums, below Pablo Honey, for me.

Nothing can ever be below Pablo Honey.

I do like this album, especially the last 3 tracks, but it's not brilliant. Underwhelming I think is the most apt word for me.

Pablo Honey is at least a competently made alt/grunge rock album.

The King of Limbs is a boring mess, especially the first half. I doubt I'll ever be able to listen to it all the way through again after the 3 or so I gave it... Even if it is only 37 minutes. I can't even make it through Bloom anymore. Ugh.
