New Picard Trailer

He reminds me of my god-sister's husband. I mean that in a good way. Beard, lives out in the middle of nowhere, outdoors man, knows all about cars, and has a bunch of classics. I could see them going fishing.
Kinda-sorta sounds like what Kirk was aiming for in his later years.
(as shown in the Nexus)

Is the hero ship a TOS Romulan Bird of Prey?!
I don't think so, but that would be AWESOME!

Apparently, this is what They were passing off as the hero ship in the first trailer...

Doesn't really appear to be a Classic Romulan BOP.

this is basically TNG V: The Picard Awakens

also getting some Generations log cabin vibes from Picard and Riker lol

It's interesting to me that in several instances, Picard appears to have a bit of visual continuity with Discovery in spite of there being a good century in between them.

Curious why the old Romulan Bird of Prey design from TOS has suddenly come back, too.

I chalk it up to the same as any similarities between TNG and the TOS Movies. In both cases, there's just no getting around these things were made around the same time by a lot of the same designers.

I like that they're using the TOS Romulan Bird of Prey, only because we need more Romulan designs. Until the Scimitar in NEM, all we ever saw in the TNG Era (that I remember) was the same old Warbird every time the Romulans showed up.

Because the big green pointed beak warbirds from TNG always looked kinda dumb. But there must be another reason that a 100 year old design is still in use (unless Romulan BOPs are just as sturdy as Miranda class starships).

Dunno why but despite appearances to the contrary,I hope that Will is still in Starfleet.
I mean it can’t be left in the hands of that be-yotch.:censored:

Perhaps it's because since the Home World was destroyed the majority of ships left are the older ones used in the outer colonies?
One could surmise that most of the newer ships were assisting with the evacuation of Romulus and were caught in the supernova?

Very true. Though I've always thought a good portion of Trek's visual continuity is the result of re-using previously-built sets as a way of saving money on their respective budgets.

Looks interesting. Would have liked more time on the new characters, but I understand the appeal to nostalgia. Might be a bit biased as I can’t stand Riker and Troi. :D

Within TNG, we saw a Romulan scout ship in "The Defector" and a Romulan science ship in "The Next Phase." Neither were anything too exciting.

There are 10+ episodes devoted to exploring the new characters. No matter how hard they try, the showrunners aren't going to sell this series by developing new characters in a trailer.
