Wow, a recreation of Ten Forward at the start there!

EDIT: I’m wondering if the Data scene playing cards takes place in the Ten Forward set. I went back to try and find the SDCC trailer but it seems to have disappeared off YouTube, anyone else noticed that?

    Wow.

    Technical details first:

Ten-Forward may be a dream, but that's definitely (still) Mars on the background going kaboom.

The blue-skies place where Picard meets the swordsman has a "Romulans Only" cafe.

The Siren is visiting Earth, with Asia Minor and Arabia at the center.

The kiteships striking at the starbase thing all sport prominent Starfleet insignia.

They are also distinct from the long-winged ships near the Borg Cube.

It's playing as a trailer for the Star Wars movie.

Are we sure it's the Enterprise-D 10-Forward? It could be a similar spot on the Verity, what with the goings on in the same scene.

It seems too close to the Enterprise D Ten Forward to be anything else. If it was a lounge on any other ship it wouldn’t need to look like that. Plus Picard seems to be wearing civilian clothing which would lean towards it not being a flashback.

Also noticed in the brief shot of him wearing white and doing some sort of greeting with his hands, Picard is wearing the 2370/80s commbadge.

That's a sneaky and smart place to put it..........where are you located (generally) and which theater chain?

Squeee! I love it! Can't wait for the premiere. I wonder if the scenes of the ships attacking Mars are actually from the Picard Short Trek? That's supposed to be related to the "unthinkable event".

The background isn’t in focus in the SDCC trailer, but it definitely looks like it could be. The light behind Data is consistent with the Ten Forward windows.

The force field on the Borg cube seems distinctly greener than in the past trailers, which is a nice touch. Also, the hero ship arriving at Earth, seems for the first time to have some weight, which makes it look less like a toy. It’s growing on me a bit. I’m incredibly curious about those Kite ships, though. I just hope they aren’t Section 31 “assassin ships” or something stupid like that.

    Data still needs work.

And that looks like the movies uniform. Maybe Nemesis flashback?

Same uniform we already saw in the SDCC trailer. I’m guessing it’s the same scene. A flashback, dream, or holodeck sequence.

Agree that Data still needs work. I never bought that they were planning to digitally de-age him in post.

A maybe you’re right. Hopefully that explains lack of progress on Data de-aging improvements if it’s the same scene.

Sooo, is Mars destroyed? If they felt Federation is responsible for Romulus destruction, it could be Romulan eye for an eye thing?

The problem with how CGI Data looks in the previews will be dealt with.Brent mentioned they were in a hurry to show the previews shown at comicon. And weren't quite finished with the final CGI Data when they showed it at San Diego comic com.He says Data will look like he did when he was in Star Trek Nemesis. I hope they will have a new preview that shows Data looking like we saw him in the moves.

Brent is wearing a TON of makeup.

He's not like Robert De Niro in The irishman. The average person watching this online isn't going to be poring over this frame by frame. :p

I agree, and it doesn’t bother me, to be honest. I’ll be much more ticked off about continuity errors and the like, visual and plot ones. But so far, it seems they’re being pretty respectful. That Borg...looks like a Borg.
