New original USS Enterprise version

Belz...

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
I've decided to post this version in its own thread, given that this one, where this design lineage originates, is getting cluttered.

I've redesigned and updated the TOS version in that thread into one that kind of encapsulates everything. I've redrawn the top "bump" of the saucer, added a module at the bottom of that section, and completely redesigned the deflector, pylons and nacelles, in addition to a few other improvements such as a new impulse deck. I've angled the pylons a bit but they're still mostly parallel, ala TOS.

I think that does it. If I were to make a Star Trek reboot, I'd probably use this one.

EDIT: See the update in post #11.

For those wondering about the ramscoop, it's an attempt to simulate the multi-coloured lights of the original's, without the orange cap.

I also love that secondary hull—your best yet.
The nacelles and their pylon joins are absolutely perfect.

Here is an idea...how about a new, flatter saucer for it—a bit wider...not quite Kelvin style sterility...but something not as tall or bulbous as what you have here, perhaps with an impulse drive “overhanging” the back of the neck/dorsal.

Just a thought...

Alright, Belz, I really like this one. I wonder what the nacelle domes would look like frosted white instead of orange or clear. Basically looking almost metallic until the ship goes to warp or engages in some other high-energy activity. At that point, it becomes increasingly luminescent with flickering energy "leaking" through the domes.

Lovely design! Incorporates cues from all the major E's nicely organic. My only personal preference is a less pronounced scoop under the secondary hull, I was never a fan of the overly exaggerated scoops, which seem more form over function than would be realistically designed. I prefer the smaller one of the original 1701, which was more directly a nautical fantail reference (and gives the secondary hull a generous volume).

Slight update. I've changed the deflector to make it more streamlined, redrew the pylons, and tapered the nacelles to have a 'fin' at the back like the refit version, producing a more combined version of the original and the '79 model.
