I'm game for more "New Frontier" however I feel like it's a series in decline. Whether you want to state that decline in terms of quality, story, or expectations is up for debate but I feel like the last several NF books were lacking in many ways when compared to their precursors in series.
Mac Calhoun ranks as as one of my favorite characters, and I liked the laid back, somewhat wonky dynamic that once existed for his crew of misfits on board his ship, but things just aren't the same anymore and the "feeling" has been lost for me. I'd love to get it back, but we may be chasing lightning in a bottle with a hole in the jar.
That said, there's no reason in which the creativity, characters, and story elements existing within the NF series can't continue to be explored within the larger Novelverse and through the talents of a multitude of additional Trek authors.
The NF Anthology was a great example of how well NF can go with several different Trek Writers playing in PADs particular corner of the Larger Trek Sandbox.
Maybe once NF gets wrapped up or at the very least put to bed as a "PAD only" project, it can then move forward as a newly integrated part of the larger Trek Novelverse Continuity.
